Before complaining everything else, I have to say that the receptionist Joe ( from Uzbekistan , if I did not spell wrong about his name). He is the best receptionist I have ever seen in recent years! He has a very smart brain, tried everything that makes sure your needs is accommodated. He deserves a five-star hotel job, and I wish him all the best!!! OK, back to hotel facility. I’m afraid the hotel management should reconsider its positioning when comparing with the hospitality standard in 21st century. Kettle does not exist in all rooms but only in Executive Rooms - - - Hello? Are guests in standard rooms not entitled to a cup of tea or hot drinks but only can pay? You should not upsell guests with this. The mattress is super soft and it float away when I woke up. Terribly uncomfortable. Hot shower water goes extremely unsteady during morning time around 10 am. I had not get a chance to bring my camera at that time, but try it, when you dare to take the risk. Blank fold in the room does not function well either. I’m terms of other aspects, the hotel is very well located though not in the old town but the in the center of business area. Walking distance from the art museum and the KGB museum. Bus stop to old town is just 200 meters away. Hotel facade is splendidly beautiful, the top floor has a glass window where you can have a better view to the city from the corridor. BTW, the hair dryer works really well I have to say.

In our four city tour of northern Europe, this hotel made Riga stand out from the rest. It was very clean, very specious and staff was super friendly (The young lady who checked us in on the Aug 21 and the friendly gentleman at the lobby bar with the beard). Because the accommodation were so good, we were able to explore Riga well.
This hotel is centrally located, nice clean rooms, safe. We had an amazing stay and look forward to visiting again if and when life gives us an opportunity.

Lovely hotel located in what is in my opinion the best part of Riga. Prices are fair, the staff is welcoming, helpful and always open for chatting. We even made good friends with some clients. In sum: highly recommended.

This hotel definitely has its charm and style. It’s very close to the bar hub just around the corner. And the staff is super friendly. We loved our staying

Checked in here today. There was a very nice guy at the reception, but he tried to push an extra bed (for an extra €30) to us. It was all confusing, because we came here with a baby and he made it sound as if the bed is just another option (instead of the crib), but once I said “yes” to the bed, he mentioned the price.

Another minor, but important thing is that the phone in our room does not work. When I gently complained with a guy on the front desk, he said “yeah, but you won’t need the phone except for when you need to call the front desk.” Well, duh.

Otherwise, the location of this hotel is superb, and it definitely has a certain “19-th century old Europe” atmosphere to it, but beware - our room smells like old dirt. It looks absolutely clean, but the smell is there.

Great location, very friendly and helpful staff. Room was very comfortable but decor was a little shabby.

Warm welcome at check in but room very disappointing. Room too chilly for comfort despite snowy weather and temperatures of -6 degrees outside. Decor awful, everything painted dark grey, was like sleeping in a prison cell. Bed very comfortable but no headboard, a bedside lamp which had nowhere to be plugged in so was useless. Desk covered in cigarette burns and wooden floor all marked and dirty looking. Room safe didn't work, no kettle or drink making facilities. Shower went randomly from freezing to scalding hot and impossible to get shower head to stay at an angle that gave an effective shower. Minimal toiletries, just a soap dispenser.
Really wasn't expecting the room to be so very basic and doesn't match the building style or comfortable reception area. We could have stayed somewhere much more comfortable for the same or less money.

We stayed for 4 nights, the location is very handy, the staff is friendly and helpful, the room was spacious yet lacked a bit of cosiness, maybe due to empty walls and high ceiling, but the bed was very comfy, mattress was nicely tight. Free spa with jacuzzi, steam room and sauna was a lovely extra, especially during snowy winter time :)
