Japanese Style

The hostel is very well located but very difficult to find. There are no signs, no names and no door bells to ring. It‘s also on the 6th floor without an elevator. Also you can only pay in cash which it didn‘t state before arrivals. All these things could be looked over if the hostel would be great. However the sheets were dirty, stained and had other peoples hair on it. The room had no windows which made it very hot and steamy. The host was nice and welcoming but sadly that‘s not enough. Wouldn‘t recommend.

Me and my girlfriend booked in advance a bedroom in this hostel. Checking photos and location, it looked like a beautiful place where to stay a couple of nights. Arrived in Riga the 14th of November, we had some difficulties to find the hostel. Situated on the last floor of a very old building (no lift), we have been welcomed by a guy that, apparently, live there with his family without working for the venue, so he couldn’t check us in.The hall was full of dirty sponge mattress. We asked if he could find someone. We waited at least half an hour to be received by a man visibly drunk. He told us there was no hot water in the building. After that, the guy disappeared! In the meantime I was checking other accommodation...the situation was getting awkward. After waiting one hour, finally, one of the staff arrived to check us in, but I had already found a different hotel, so we asked to cancel our booking without paying any fee. The staff member agreed. Obviously I have been charged for cancellation fee after a couple of days since we left that hostel. Don’t waste your time in that place.

Better skip this one and find a better place to stay! It's located on a sixth floor with no elevator, and state of this object is FAR AWAY from the nice pictures You can see in booking offer. The standard of bathrooms and rooms is also not even in a half way of our expectation to be just clean, nice, tidy and prepare for guests to use.

DO NOT STAY HERE. I wasn't feeling safe in this hostel. Hosts were looking like drug and alcohol addicts at the same time. It seems to me like it' a drug-pritone. One of the hosts' friends was running with a knife, he even damaged someone, police have come and took him out. One of the three hosts was hiding from the police in the nearest supermarket. Also, I heard talks between hosts and their friends and one of them was bragging about his experience and respect in prison.
Besides safety, the place was almost impossible to find, no signs on the building, no signs on the door. Common areas were terrible stinky hard to breathe. The drain in the shower was clogged. I wish I could go back in time and book other accommodation. This was awful and terrifying.

Bad, they offer totally bad room for us after early booking (say, that they have only this one free😠, but we choose other room more than 1 month before arrival). No hot water in winter season. Too bad for Riga

An obvious will to robb ! 🤬 Tiny, loud, and smelly rooms. 60€ for two peoples. According to the numbers bad comments, nothing had changes. The guy doesn’t care and had no respect for his customers (dirty rooms, no indications, no mention of the “cash only politic”...). Don’t go there. As a bonus, there is not a once of japaness.

Came with my gf to Riga for a city break, and had a really good time at this accommodation. They did everything to make us feel like home, explained what to do in the city, the room was nice, warm, cozy and the little terrace - such a great perk!

this is a terrible place. The staff does not speak english. Not able to explain why a pre-paid single room is suddenly busy and offer in return a bed without a separate shower and other amenities. Communication at the reception takes place against the backdrop of terrible and loud music. Photos are absolutely untrue. And this is the 6th floor without an elevator. the staircase is terribly dirty and uncomfortable. If you are pregnant or with a child - keep in mind.
