The hotel staff are very pleasant and efficient. The hotel decor is rather nice for a northern Alberta town. I appreciate the mini fridge, microwave, and gas fire place. The room is spacious and overall comfortable. I am very much allergic to the rose scented cleaning product used in the bathroom and I bring my own bedding due to being allergic to the smell of the detergent and/or dryer sheets used.

I (27F) work across Western Canada as a railroad contractor living in hotels so things that matter to me might be a little different than others. I was in room 130, 2 night stay. This was not our first choice, but was all that was left for the dates we needed.
PROS:
- if you're on the 1st floor there is exterior entry to every room which is extremely handly for unloading all the stuff.
- comfortable bed, very large room with separate seating area.
- good breakfast to-go bag (restaurant doesn't appear to be open?)
- microwave & larger compact fridge in room.
- had guest laundry although I didn't end up using it.
- surprisingly quiet for a full hotel.
- Good amount of bedside charging ports.
- decent walking proximity to a few restaurants (10 mins to A&W, Dairy Queen), but 20 to the grocery store.
CONS:
- I was harassed by a drunk man mid afternoon in the front lobby in front of the front desk person who heard what they said and did NOTHING. Later that night the same man tried to fight my coworker and ended up passed out on the floor at the end of our hall. I found out later from the cleaning staff that there's "nothing the hotel can do" as they are evacuees from the Hay River Floods, and the police don't even come anymore for the drunkenness. I feel like the hotel needs to step up and maybe ban these guests in the future? I do feel bad for those who have been displaced but we don't deserve to be harassed. I was uncomfortable enough that I didn't do my laundry here and waited until the next town. This is the main reason for the 2 star review.
- no luggage carts.
- small, outdated bathroom with very loud fan.
- TV half dim and water smelled funny.
- did not have thermostat controlled temperature, only cold level 1 through 8 with no auto shutoff.
- no specific truck parking, but we had room.

I cannot speak to value for price, as it was paid by corporate lodging. I would not stay again.

It’s fine for what you pay. Seems clean (although difficult to ascertain as the room decor is very dark (you can’t see stains on brown, that’s why it’s such a popular color for hotel interiors…). Bed comfy and clean, WiFi fast. Shower is dangerously hot. Breakfast in a bag for no obvious reason.

Perhaps they should notify people that when they book a room their rate will change depending on how many people are staying there. Called in and booked a room in advance for a certain rate and when I received the invoice after my stay it was more than originally booked for. When I asked the front desk attendant she was dismissive, short answered and seemed annoyed that I would even ask such a question.

Motel is dated and a little rough around the edges (which seems to be the case for the whole town of High Level. It works as a stop over when heading to the NWT.

The restaurant staff were excellent, room are probably the cleanest in the town.

Basic, strait forward clean room. Friendly service, and generally quiet. Coffee available by the entrance. We all know how important that first coffee is. Despite having a coffee machine in the room, I'm sure I would've used it if there was cream. So again, coffee available by the front entrance

Horrible place to stay. For every concern their answer is "You can go to the hotel across the street" but they won't return your money either. Washer was broken and filled with dirty water. Gym was stinking of cigarette smoke. My room was stinky and a pack of cigarette buds lying near the door. One of the employees was kind enough to clean the buds and spray febreeze in our room. We didn't get any breakfast as they were out of fruits, yoghurt and juice. Only option was Turkey sandwiches.
