Overall we enjoyed our stay at Holiday Inn Canmore. The staff was friendly. We had a room with great mountain/glacier view and that was amazing. The value definitely worth more than hotels in Banff and Lake Louise. Rates during holiday times is pretty expensive but we used points to book to save some money. The only thing I wish we could have like others said is to have breakfast included for free like other holiday inn hotels.

For the price you pay, it was absolutely disgusting! We got a room with a jetted tub and after starting the jets, there was stuff floating in the water. After we notified front staff of this, we were told " you need to drain the water.. fill it again.. start the jets.. and repeat " this should be done by hotel staff for guests prior to arrival so they can have a hygienic bath. We were not pleased with this hotel and will not be back. We have a wedding coming up and WILL NOT be recommending this place to our 100+ guests.

The room was nice with great view of the mountain (hence the 2 stars) but, it has that funky smell we notice as soon as we enter. We always have to ask for extra towel as we are more than 2, yet they kept giving just two. Sink is partly clogged. Same with the bath tub. Tried calling the front desk a few times but non has cared to answer.

We stayed at the Hotel for our honeymoon 4 nights, the first two booked by my parents through Points they’d saved, and the second two I booked by calling the hotel about a month in advance, and specifically asked for the same room (I thought it was overly expensive but didn’t want to move to a cheaper room). Two days into our stay we were informed that a different more expensive room had been accidentally booked and we’d need to move to that one. After 2 hours of back and forth over the phone we were told we could stay in our room at their current daily rate which was only $50 cheaper than moving to the nicer room, so we ended up moving anyways.

The jet tub in the first room was fine, but the one in the second room was dirty and had to be filled and emptied twice before it was clean.

Overall, the hotel rooms were fine, but I feel a bit cheated and was expecting at least some discount for the inconvenience and poor customer experience. Won’t be staying again.

I was at first happy to have booked this hotel. I was having my wedding in Canmore and was able to book extra rooms for family.
When my family members went to check in they were unable to do so because I was not there. Upon booking I had listed them as secondary guests and had informed the front desk prior that they would be checking in and that I was not needed to be there. After sending them photo identification and verbal permission they were able to check in. The day of my wedding the bathroom toilet stopped working. We reported it to the front desk and were told maintenance would be asked to come fix it. After 30min no one showed so I went back to the desk and was told maintenance was off for the weekend. I told them it was my wedding day and that I needed a working toilet and that I needed to be moves into another king suite. The front desk manager said he wasn't sure if a king suite was available. After another 30min my MOH came to my room with keys to my new suite. They had upgraded us to loft which was great. However, the morning of checkout and still running on wedding brain I accidently left 2 bridal veils in the bathroom upon check out. Once I was home and noticed they were not with me I called 3x and all 3x I was told nothing was turned in. I have a video of exactly where they were hanging and know I left them and it is very upsetting that a staff member would potentially something so special to someone.
My overall decision to book here was based on availability and price and will not be booking here again.

Lovely stay. Clean. Comfortable. We stayed during the off season, so reasonably priced. Very friendly staff.

Hot tub (which was under repair when we were there, so it was closed.

Pet friendly.
Would rate 5 stars, but deducted a star due to advertised as there being a breakfast, however the next day we were informed it was $18/person. Disappointed in Holiday Inn for not having a continental breakfast included.

We had a great stay at holiday inn Canmore we booked the king loft suite it was very nice and clean , pillows and extra blankets was provided , Best stay that I have , the rooms are spacious and was quite , breakfast was good and my kids enjoy the hot tub. The toiletries was good since we didn’t bring our own. I had the chance to go to the church as it is just steps from it. Overall we had a good stay and will surely come back again.

Good value - basic two queen room but seemed to have more space to put things down than other places I’ve stayed. Nice view of the mountains. Staff very friendly. There’s really nothing right there as far as amenities but lots nearby within a 5 min drive (is on N side of highway). Biggest disappointment was the hot tub was closed - There was no mention of the tub being closed when we booked a few days before coming nor when we checked in. I chose the Hotel because it had a hot tub & looked nice in the pictures on their website. We were really looking forward to it in the evening after being out in the cold - I would’ve stayed elsewhere if I’d known.
Recommended locations
