Comfort Suites Parkersburg South

Avoid at all costs. We had a full car and I am disabled and there were NO carts to bring in our luggage. Well, actually there was a cart behind the desk, but neither of the desk crew (2 people) wanted to move the items on it. It took my husband 4 trips bringing in all our belongings. And you do NOT want to leave your belongings in your car as this is a questionable area. The room said "non-smoking," yet the aroma of cigarette smoke hangs in the room. Additionally, aside from the cigarette aroma, it also has the faint odor of urine. You get 2 double beds, not queen, and they are not comfortable. The fan in the bathroom is painfully loud. The outlets by the bed do not work, so don't even consider charging anything and they are assuredly not into the 21st century with power outlets for electronic equipment. And there is no streaming option on the TV with a very limited selection. And the microwave was filthy. Far too expensive for this area and this type of third-rate hotel. Free parking, though! My opinion: Go to the Hampton Inn, which I wished we booked.

The stay was a very good stay. The pool was great. The breakfast was good and filling to continue our travels on. The staff was very nice to work with and they were very professional while dealing with us. The real big reason we are not giving the hotel five stars is the hotel is of some age and we noticed that there are multiple soft areas in the floors (at least the 3rd floor). The other thing we noticed was the drain in the tub did not drain fast enough to keep up with the water from a shower. The property was very clean. When we head back through, I believe we would not mind staying there again.

They keep the front entrance nice to fool you... As soon as you walk through, you see damaged walls and floors everywhere. The room smelled like smoke or something nasty. The pool area was absolutely filthy and the ceiling is in terrible condition and about to fall down! One night, the hot tub was yellow as if several people peed in it!There are weeds everywhere, a dead bird das in the courtyard our entire stay, there were huge pools of standing water breeding mosquitoes... The list goes on. I feel incredibly ripped off for the price we paid.

It has HOT BREAKFAST and it is always out before 6, so if you are blue collar, or in the skills trade , this is perfect. It is not embassy suites breakfast, but better than your standard continental breakfast. Rooms are somewhat dated, but clean, and smell clean as well.
I would stay here again.

Good value for the money. Not a five star hotel - not due to any fault of the hotel staff and management. Hotel was relatively clean and safe. Wish restaurants were closer. Doesn't really have truck or rv sized vehicles parking but that really is not an issue as it does have a large parking lot. It simply is what it is. I would stay there again. I have stayed in MUCH worse Choice hotels in Charleston WV. Good value.

I have stayed at this hotel many times over the past several years also several family members from out of town stay there when we come to town for a family reunion it was so convenient and a nice place after covid I overlooked a lot of the issues but in September stay there with a friend it was a horrible experience in the four days that we were there we had to change rooms two times the first time it's too embarrassing to Post online I would love to hear from the owner privately planning on coming into town again soon I want to know if the issues have been resolved I really like staying there because it is so convenient but I don't want to go through the same thing I went through the last time there is more after getting settled in the second room at 11:30 p.m. we had water leaking from the ceiling on to the bed and the plaster started falling from the ceiling so we had to leave again to another room at midnight still the first room we were in the situation is horrifying I hope I hear from someone

Convenient location. Friendly service! Great value! Enjoyed our stay. We stayed while traveling enroute to visit family members. Will happily visit again!

Great place to stay! Staff were very helpful and friendly. Rooms were clean and plenty of linen.
