We had an awesome girls getaway here! All of the staff were very friendly and accommodating! We had a gorgeous view from our little balcony overlooking the Potomac! Everything was clean and the view in the pool is beyond words! Food in the dining room was excellent as was the breakfast and the crab pretzel poolside! A nice walk to the park and to town for lunch and only about 15 minute drive to Harpers Ferry. Beds were super comfortable too! This will definitely be a repeat experience for us! Highly recommend!

After hearing reviews of the rooms being dated, I was hesitant to stay but we splurged for my birthday. I was very pleasantly surprised. Yes, the property is not "brand new" but it has a certain charm. Our room was clean and devoid of any foul smells or anything. We loved the jacuzzi tub and enjoyed great water pressure. The little patio balcony was great to sit out at night and in the morning to see the sun rise. I appreciate that the pool opens at 8am, offering an opportunity to swim in the quiet of the morning before it gets crowded. The grounds are well-maintained and the front desk was helpful and courteous. I will stay here again.

This place hit all the right notes for me. German food and a brewery attached to a venue with an amazing view. But for me the food was extremely bland. Looking around at the clientele explained why. I had the schnitzel gypsy style which normally has a little bit of heat attached to it but this was just a bit flat. That being said the food was well prepared and presented perfectly. I wonder if a meal like this would of been well received at this location by its guest if it had any sort of heat.

My husband and I recently spent a 3-day weekend at the Inn made for the perfect get away. Convenient from the suburbs of Washington DC, a one-hour drive took us to this wonderful spot along the Potomac and the beauty of West Virginia. Everything was first-rate and provided a perfect setting to rest, relax and enjoy good food and a relaxed atmosphere. The rooms were spacious, the staff extremely welcoming and helpful, the wait-staff was every bit as good as the food, with a varied menu that didn’t try too hard and did everything we tried very well. The pool was a big favorite and the bar and setting exuded a vibe that screamed “relax and enjoy.” We did!! For such a laid-back setting it was apparent that the place is extremely well run, with great attention to detail, and did I mention that the staff was just outstanding – attentive, friendly and efficient. We even enjoyed views of two different bald eagles from our room and the pool. The guests ran from young couples to middle-age folks, reflecting the wide appeal of a well-run resort for those simply looking to get away and chill. Perhaps most impressive, our stay coincided with a very large birthday party but the level of service afforded to all guests didn’t miss a beat. What a find!

The beer is excellent. The food is good. (Get the crab pretzel and the sausages. Everything else is just okay.) The rooms are a little dated, but I think that's part of the allure. The views are fantastic. The town is great.

Recommend a trip for dinner, drinks, or a night. It will however be expensive.

The Pub is really nice but you just can’t count on it I’m sad to say… they are perpetually renting it out to private events in Sundays… so as a local, you just can’t rely on them… and I won’t eat in the dining room side because it’s a trip back to a 1980’s nursing home dining room. What a big disconnect between the terrific brew pub casual dining room and the dated and stodgy “dining room” side. Staff is great but the supervisors are grumps and less than hospitable. Bavarian Inn is quickly losing my attention.

My wife and I stayed at the Bavarian Inn for 1 night last Fall in a river view room. The room was spacious if a bit dated in some areas but it was clean and well kept. And the view was fantastic. We have also dined there on several occasions (breakfast, lunch, dinner, restaurant week menu and most recently Thanksgiving). We have always enjoyed our experiences there. They have a beautiful back space in their brewpub with high beamed ceilings and windows into their brewing space. The main dining room has a more traditional look and is a bit more formal. I can confidently say I've never had anything bad on their menu. If there was anything I'd say is just a step below it would be their own beers. A few are pretty good most are middling in an era when some truly fantastic beers are available in almost any location. They do have a fantastic slate of other breweries beers including German imports and their cocktails are also well made. All around I can't recommend them enough for a fantastic dining experience that is in many ways extraordinary in an era of fast casual dining or trendy fusion spots.

I had dinner last night for my mother in laws birthday. We originally had reservations for pub dining which was a great setting and definitely a pub style. However, we wanted something more intimate and quiet, so we switched to the dining room without an issue. The dining room is very nice. White linen and candle light. Speaking of light, I found it to be quite dark in the parking area and outside of the inn. I feel the exterior of the inn could be better lit. However, it is very well decorated for the holidays. The food itself was quality, but lacked a bit in seasoning and taste. Nothing that salt and pepper can't fix. Overall, it was a beautiful atmosphere and great service. All of the staff were amazing and helpful. PS. The pumpkin martinis were to die FOR!!!!
