Family owed in a great neighborhood. Very quick ride to the trails. House has everything needed to make this trip very easy so we could spend more time riding. Awesome view and very clean.

River's Edge Trailhouse is the absolute best lodging that I have received in my several trips to Southern WV. Any slight concern I had during my stay was addressed and remedied promptly. It is in a beautiful location with a large, sturdy deck overlooking the Guyandotte River. Cable, Wifi, Lots of room, close proximity the trails. One could not ask for much more. My stay here inspired me to buy a property in the area.

The family is the epitome of hospitality, and they really went above and beyond during our stay.
The rooms are spacious, and there are plenty of beds for larger families/groups.
Kade was a huge help, and made an excellent tour guide/leader.
The parking is definitely a little shaky, but they're quick to help park or find other accommodations, so it wasn't really an issue.

I wish I could give this place more then 5 stars. I don't do reviews that often but this place deserves it. Lets start with the house. The house is really nice and clean. Feels like home. The girls in my group love the decorations. We really like the back porch deck, we did all of our family meals and hanging out in the back porch deck. Keno and his family where AMAZING seriously. They went the extra mile to make sure we felt comfortable. They work with us on checking in early. Keno's son Caden, was helping us unload our stuff from our vehicles into the house. Caden was super helpful, polite , great kid. Keno came over let us borrow his fishing poles and brought over a kids pool so my kids could play in it. Keno's wife let our kids borrow life jackets so they could float the river and she brought us over a life size connect four game. They constantly check on us to make sure we where okay, and they came over to talk to us to get to know each other. This has been the best experience we had in Airbnb. We are definitely going back.

We could have gone our separate ways, but you wanted to talk about this on the internet, so here is my honest review that I was robbed of.
I would never try to hurt your business but under the circumstances, I have no choice but to defend myself against your accusations since you are trying to slander my name. What I did say in my first review was way too nice. I left a lot out because I didn't want to be mean. I was trying to help you out with a positive review. I understand you are trying to run a business, but I'm not sure how you can attack someone without knowing all the details. I met you as soon as we got there and never saw you again. We had who I assume is your son come out to do the dirty work of telling us to keep it down one time at the beginning of the trip. Maybe if your concerns had been addressed in person, there wouldn't be such a miscommunication problem.
Honestly, we were afraid to be on the deck. It's a hazard. We enjoyed the deck until the two licensed contractors in my party noticed all the weight is being held up by just two deck screws. You do not want more than a few people back there or you will have more to worry about than noise complaints. You put your visitors at risk by allowing them to go on the deck. Also, it rained a lot while we were there, and there was no outside shelter. So if it rained, everyone had to pile up in the living room. You need to fix the deck and build a roof over it.
As far as the noise, I am asking for advice on what we should have done. We were NOT riding through the neighborhood in the middle of the night. First of all, it would have been nearly impossible for us to coordinate us riding the trails all day with being back at the house before 10pm (we come to ride and relax, not worry about what time it is). Therefore, there was some noise when we came home, and when you have multiple ATV's coming through, you are going to have noise so how should we have gotten back to the house? Another reason you may have heard ATV's is because we have family that are local to Logan that take us on the trails and help us get home (as I referenced above, this was usually after 10pm). They had to ride their ATV's back through to leave. How would they have left otherwise? Furthermore, we also had people in our party that had to leave to get back to their hotel. Another reason for the noise is that the house is basically in an ally. Parking was 1/4 of a mile away. If we needed to go to our trucks for any reason, we rode the ATV. Should we have walked instead? Finally, there was some noise when were trying to get up and down the mountain of a hill in the back yard (especially for the older women). What do you suggest we should have done? Let them try to get up and down it by themselves? As I mentioned before, it was raining and therefore, quite muddy and slippery. But so sorry for the inconvenience.
As for comfort of the house, we were told it was a four bedroom. If I were you, I would let people know where that 4th "bedroom" is. In order to get to the 4th "bedroom", you have to go through the 3rd bedroom. That's great if you have a big family in one room, and not so great if you have a bunch of couples under a roof. Luckily, my parents were with us so they slept in the 4th "bedroom" BY THEMSELVES rendering the 3 other beds useless. Good thing we didn't have any more people in our group. It was still awkward to be in a room with my husband and have my parents walk through especially in the middle of the night and especially with the floor being so loud, you woke the whole house up. As soon as we got there and saw the parking situation and the room situation, everyone got on to me for picking such a place. I tried to stick up for you, but we couldn't help but feel like we were lied to about those things. We asked multiple times if you would be able to park all of our trucks and trailers. 1/4 of a mile away and we are expected to walk back and forth? Come on! Overpromised and underdelivered.
