Clarion Hotel & Conference Center

Went for the Thanksgiving Dinner/Buffet meal. Rather crowded, but that was expected. Were seated quickly (you need reservations, and are given a time). Lines went quickly, food was plentiful. Food quality was good but there didn't seem to be the variety that there has been in the past, and the girls commented on the quality not being quite there either as it has been. Have gone the last few years - not sure if we'll go next year or not.

Decorated well and well priced, the rooms and food are a little lack luster. The staff is extremely nice. There is some history here I'm not fully aware of, and there is a wall of celebrity photos and autographs that's pretty cool. Bar was extremely well priced for drinks and had a good atmosphere.

We had our wedding reception here in the Byrd room October 2018. The staff, accommodations, food, our room, everything was amazing. The rooms are a bit outdated but the beds are comfortable and the rooms are clean.

Jennifer T is the sales rep we coordinated everything with and she is literally amazing!!! She was so detail oriented, helpful, kind and easy to work with. She basically decorated my entire reception for us and put her own take on things too because her and I had very similar ideas. I couldn’t be there as I was getting ready at the church. She made that process and experience perfect and sent me pictures to show the progress as everything showed up and began to prepare. She is truly a wonderful person and great at her job! Our food was exceptional and they stored all of our items for days before we could pick them up and it was all safe.

This is an amazing hotel!!! Stay here, book your parties here, eat here- you’ll enjoy it! Better than the Bavarian, if you ask me!

Stayed here as work gave me no other option. WiFi is absolutely terrible and there is no ethernet in the rooms. Rooms are very old and in need of refurbishment. Had a light switch in my room that seemed to do absolutely nothing. Shower head is low, and dirty. A/C is extremely loud. You can here your neighbor’s plumbing. The food is extremely expensive for what you get, but is fine tasting.

I wouldn’t stay here considering there’s a holiday in down the street that’s in town and near a grocery store.

Monday night is rib night. Oh . . . my . . . goodness! All those flavors. I could taste the chili powder (I use it in my rib rub at home. At one point I thought, "These ribs are better than mine," and I'm known around the neighborhood for making some tasty ribs). The chicken Chesapeake wasn't too bad either. My first time having it. That crab meat on top is a nice addition to otherwise decent chicken. Great beer on tap. And the server, Nicole, was friendly, timely, and knowledgeable about the entrees. Much appreciated!

I understand old but never dirty... I mentioned the bad smell in the room and nothing changed, the bitterness on these experience was unexpected.
-the sheets and pillows smelled like they were not washed or sanitized. (Smell rancid)
-behind the toiletry and here and there... accumulated dust.. somebody's hair.. not nice.
-Stains everywhere, on the walls, air ducts, carpets, information cards... :/
I don't enjoy making bad reviews but honestly I didn't had an option.
On a good note, they do have a nice pool, gym and in their restaurant the staff was really attentive and friendly.

Stay away at all costs. Outside of hotel is beautiful but the rooms are disgusting. We were just at this hotel on 10/25/19 and the room they gave us was disgustingly dirty. We asked for a new room and the woman at the front desk said all the rooms are in similar condition. We asked for a refund and it was granted easily as if requested refunds are routine. We have never - ever - asked for a refund before, but then, we have never stayed in such a dirty, disgusting room before either.

Very friendly and accommodating staff. We happened to be there when it wasn't crowded. It is a Conference Center, so that's an important point - call ahead to ask about a conference. There are two restaurants on premises. The grill is open for breakfast, the tavern for lunch and dinner. Room service is also available. Easy to find, there are signs on the road.
