New Martinsville Inn

I stayed here for a week for work. The room was paid for by a company I was working for. The front desk attendant was very professional. The room however was dirty. There was dust and dirt built up on the floor along the walls. There was a black mold in the bathroom above the tub. The room smelled poorly. My roommate had things taken from his bag while the room was vacant. The door wouldn't open half the time without attempting it 10 times. I wouldn't recommend anyone to spend their own money to stay here.

Pathetic place. I roomed here during one of my oilfield hitches. I was here for 3.5 weeks. I only had room service clean the room 3 times during my stay. I had to go get my own towels if they even had any. I explained to the front desk that there wouldn't be anyone in the room between a certain time frame due to shift change on field. I was always told that room service left at 1pm. How do you expect to run an establishment like this with room service only half the day. They're not quite updated the jacuzzi they advertise doesn't even work and they have old 70's box TVs in all the rooms I asked around. Tight tight parking spaces. The room card expire way too often. Just wasnt happy with the experience at all.

Very nice property with excellent location to restaurants as well as walks along the Ohio river. Indoor pool with hot tub looked very nice but we didn’t get the chance to use it. Service was friendly, prompt and efficient. I would definitely stay again.

I've stayed at the New Martinsville Inn on numerous occasions over the past few years. We are from the area so when I go "back home" to visit this was our go to place. It has always been reasonably priced, and very accommodating. This visit I'm sorry to say was not any of that. First let me say the young lady that took my reservation on the phone and was there the day we arrived was very friendly and was able to get us into our room at noon instead of 3pm. She and her mother were there the day we arrived. The mother came out first with a cell phone in hand, looked at me over her glasses and rudely said "can I help you" .. as if I was bothering her. Fast forward to the room.. the floor was very sticky and dirty and I couldnt take my shoes off, the lights between the bed didnt work (no reading) and the airconditioning was poor at best ( it was 90 degrees that day so maybe that is why ) .. but, the part that was most disappointing to us (myself and 2 grandchildren) was when we came home from the movies ready to swim the pool had been closed by Wetzel County Health Dept!!! That is the main reason we stay there is for the pool!!!! so... the next day when checking out, the older lady ( the mother) was sitting on the couch on her cell phone again and started to tell me about her facebook post about rattle snakes in the area.. she was taking my key and asked (without making eye contact) how my stay was... when I told her (very politely) she didn't even acknowledge that I had said anything!!! just handed me my receipt and told me to sign.. I signed and I knew that was the last reciept I would ever sign at the New Martinsville Inn ..

Hotel needs a major deep clean. Has good bones and a good location but all of the rooms and halls need to be re-done, and updated. Breakfast isn't much, best to just offer coffee.

I will not recommend hidden charges they charge a 100 dollars and hold it for 48 hours what a scam no one at the desk said anything and u wake up to a 200 room no way is it worth it never again I will call my bank and despute the charge and they will get nothing for this b.s.

Great location, next to a small plaza, so easy access to amenities. But the room itself was kinda poor. The bathroom light had a short and flickered and holes in the blankets. The staff was nice enough, but the dollar general breakfast was disappointing. Also disappointing was the pool being closed. Overall, ok place to take a rest. No bugs or anything super gross.

I have been planning to come to West Virginia for some time now and I am so glad that I was able to come and enjoy West Virginian hospitality and service. I read the reviews and I feel some people just have a nag to complain. I had a great time at the hotel! Sally Loy checked us in Thursday night into our suite and the suite was awesome! I have stayed at many hotels around the world and every hotel room offers different kinds of amenities. In this suite, the room was large. We had a very nice large bathroom, a large kitchenette, a very roomy dining area and seating area, and a nice big jacuzzi. The best part was after driving down from Canada, we were quite thirsty, and our fridge was full of drinks. These drinks are not an extra charge-they come free with the room. We were also a bit hungry, and it was late to find food, so the hotel provided us with some frozen pizza as well. They went out of their way because they believe that the happiness of customers outweighs everything.
I stayed at a Hilton in Canada and I did not get housekeeping every day because they had limited service. New Martinsville Inn cleaned my room every day without any request. The room offers a lot of toiletries and in room amenities to make a relaxing comfortable stay. We could even sit at the balcony above the warm indoor pool and enjoy a nice cup of coffee too with popcorn as well. We slept on a King size bed, and we were treated like Kings. We had a nice continental breakfast with danish, donuts, cereal and coffee to help us every morning. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
