You may think a post office is nothing special, but you’ll see you are wrong when you visit the one in Evinston FL. Stay for a bit, look around and buy some delicious jams and honey. The proceeds go to a foundation that the person managing the place, set up to maintain this post office open, as did his father. Be kind, be respectful and enjoy the chat. You’ll find out the tall man behind the counter is married to a Peruvian lady and that he will never go back to working in a city. If you go in mid April you are sure to see the building surrounded by fields of wild flowers of every color. Watch the other man run around as he preps the post, the one coming or the one going. Breath the air, with the smell of history and wild flowers. Thanks for the experience. We’ll call later this week to see if you can send us some more jam. It’s long gone !
