I am driving away from the store as I’m typing this. I called before I got to the store to see if they had an anti acid in stock. I had to find out before the other stores closed that carried it. The automated phone system would ask questions and we would try to answer them in time but it would still talk over us. By the time we finally reached the store phone, I heard the phone get picked up, and then it was immediately hung back up. I tried again. It was picked up, then hung up immediately. I could hear the receiver being moved. We got there in time and we picked up the anti acid I needed. To try out an experiment, we placed a phone call directly in front of the cashier to see if she would hang up. We called, the phone rang, she picked it up, looked around without saying anything, and promptly hung it back up a couple of feet in front of us. She was a cashier with black hair pulled back into a ponytail. I understand if you’re busy, but I work at the busiest bar in my town and I never don’t pick up the phone. I guess you’re busy when there’s no one in front of you???? Makes sense to me, I guess. Anyways, good luck with that.

Totally rude staff, they do not care about filling prescriptions there I do not know why this location is open. My wife went in last November2021 to get her free Covid vaccine that our wonderful President bragged about. She then received a bill from her health insurance carrier for reimbursement as Walgreens billed them. My wife was to kind I would have made Walgreen reimburse her. Just thankful we switched locations. They had no right to bill her insurance

To anyone considering to fill their prescriptions at the Walgreens Pharmacy at 1650 Dunlawton Ave. Port Orange FL, 32127

I have been prescribed a controversial medication for 5+ years . As sad as it is that it's frowned upon by some people, it has saved my life. I am a single father. I work full time Monday-Friday and have full custody of my 4 year old son, who just started VPK.

I have been filling my prescription at this Walgreens for almost a year after moving from Cocoa Beach to South Daytona beach. However, there have been several incidences of them giving me a hard time filling my medication. Especially when I go in person, they see what I look like and the name of my medication. Although, they had yet to refuse to fill my prescription.

Yesterday, I called to see if my prescription was ready for pick up. I felt like I was being interrogated;

"Q: Why are you seeing a doctor in Cocoa Beach when you live in Daytona beach?"
"A: I have been seeing the same doctor/therapist for almost 10 years and, they are open on Saturdays. Additionally, all of my family (parents, aunts and uncles) live in Cocoa Beach and, I drive down there on the weekends to spend time with them. Why fix something if it's not broken?"

"Q: Why are you filling it at this Walgreens when there's one closer to your house?"
"A: Because, the one closer to my house on the corner of Nova and Reed Canal had the pharmacy closed for multiple times during covid. They did not have a pharmacist multiple occasions and, you are the second closest to my house."

She then refused to fill my prescription and, told me to call the next day at 9:00 a.m. because, the pharmacist was out for the night. That I could speak to the pharmacist if I wanted to try to have it filled at their Pharmacy.

So today I call and speak to the pharmacist and explain my situation. The pharmacist asks me if I obtain my prescription online or if I see a doctor. I explained to her that I've been seeing the same doctor/therapist for over 5 years and, that all of my family also lives down there. Additionally, I work Monday through Friday and, my son has school Monday through Friday and, my doctor/therapist is open on Saturdays.

At that point in time she responds and says that the FDA and DEA has been cracking down and it is now Walgreens corporate regulation and mandatory that I must fill it at the Walgreens closest to my house. She stated she would call my doctor and ask my doctor to transfer it to the walgreens closer to my house. (5 minute difference)

Three hours go by and I have heard nothing from the pharmacist. Whom also told me she would call me back. Nor have I heard from my doctor. I then reach out to my doctor's office and the secretary tells me that she had spoken to the pharmacist and that she canceled the prescription and left a note for the doctor to transfer it to the Walgreens closer to my house.

Additionally, she says that she asked the pharmacist why she would not fill my prescription. The pharmacist told her that she would not fill it because she was uncomfortable and thought that it was shady. (So you send it to the next Walgreens down the street?)

If you want a pharmacy/pharmacist that judges and LIES to you, this is the one for you. This pharmacist does not know my medical history. She does not know why I need this medication. It is not the pharmacists job to question the medication I have been prescribed. Even after speaking to my primary care doctor she still insisted that I switch pharmacies.

All of this on the 30th day of my 30-day supply of my medication. If regulations had changed and it were mandatory that it had to be the Walgreens closest to my house don't you think you might want to let your customers know in advance? Not the day they're supposed to get their prescription? Well, of course you would but that wasn't the case because it was a lie.

The pharmacy is not only out of line and picks and chooses the policy’s they “have to follow” , ie , they advise they cannot file a script for myself because of my location … but fill my significant others every month … who lives in the same home as me .
The most appalling issue at hand is they called my other half (not husband , fiancé ) just gf and stated “ we have told her before and are telling again that we cannot and will not fill this script for Kay that was just sent over “
Not only was that an antagonistic follow up
But that is a MAJOR HIPPA VIOLATION .
They have my contact , it was MY script , how dare you call and share my business with someone else .
How do you know I wanted her to know ?
How do you know we are still actively together ?
Shame .

Every time I have gone there in the past seven years they have been exceedingly friendly. Store and pharmacy both. Staff shortages have made service slower at times, but they always get the job done. Great store.
