Rixwell Gertrude Hotel

Definitely not a 4 star hotel. Old, out of style and dirty, this has been one of the worst hotels I've ever been to, even by this price.
Room was super dirty, hotel stuff is unprofessional and not really trained properly for customer service. Room had a pile of dust and sunflower seeds that were not picked up when we arrived. Breakfast was the lowest quality of ingredients and cooking you can imagine. Two small blankets. Floor lamp had a broken bulb. It was noisy because of the water pipes. The sink was cracked. Max 2 star hotel ⭐⭐

Price and quality don't match at all. Seems like they gave themselves these four stars. First we got a room with broken air conditioner and slept there when outside was like 30 degree warm. Then we got other room but Air conditioner worked so loud that we couldn't sleep at all when it was on. And the breakfast was one of the worst breakfasts that we had in our lives. Breakfast didn't even have cappuccino or latte only black coffee from machine and espresso. There was a very small selection of food and variety of food to eat. This is not at all a four stars hotel. This hotel barely even reaches three stars. Don't recommend at all!!!!

2 stars for me, this did not feel like a 4 star hotel. I am not going for 1 star, because it was clean, quiet and the staff was nice, they always tried to help if they could.
Their english however, it was a little difficult sometimes, they mostly knew hotel terminology and as soon as you asked for something from the outside, it took some time, I can live with that. English was generally a problem in Riga.
The biggest flaw was the breakfasts, every day (5 days) my stomach felt heavy after the breakfast, the food was not fresh. It might be that I am from a different area and I am not used to their food, however, the last day, day of my flight back, I got food poisoning from the breakfast and that made me go through the hardest ~16 hours of my life.
The rooms were clean, place was quiet and kinda kidden from all the rush. But it all felt a little... "old". Not everything was working properly in our room.
To conclude this, I would have been going for 4 stars, if the breakfasts had not nearly killed me.

Definitely not a four star hotel! Air conditioner worked so loud that we couldn't sleep. Breakfast was awful, very small food selection and often there wasn't food at all and we had to wait like 20 minutes before they bring new food. I don't recommend this hotel at all! Price and quality don't match!

To start the hotel was in a really good spot close to the old town easy to find. The receptionist was helpfull not as fluent in english as i would have liked but i understood everything. The hotel layout was a bit confusing at first but the signs were informative and easy to follow. The room was a bit small had to rub shoulders to get inside but the room itself was clean and nice and the bathroom was also amazing. The breakfast was preety good no complains there a wide variety to choose from. So why am i giving it a rating of 3 stars. Well the biggest downfall was the air conditioning i had no sleep whatsoever it was buzzing all night even when i tried turning it off (We stayed in room 416) . Also there were no place to enjoy our food we ordered in. And finally there were no good places to park only one parking lot which the only man running it didint spoke not a single word of english. So would i recommend this hotel? Maybe if they fix their air conditioning sounds.

I was happy to stay at the hotel as it has a good location and a reasonable price. The hotel has two lifts. The hotel has friendly and professional staff who are responsive to all my requests. The room has everything you need for a business trip. The hotel is suitable for a short trip or a long trip. Nice bed and bathroom, but hotel rooms are often overpriced.

Good location, very helpful and kind staff. However, the hotel was below what I would expect from 4*. Long and looping corridors, tiny room, short bed (because it barely fits in the room). Breakfast was tolerable, although it was not easy to find the breakfast room location.

A nice clean hotel, warm and comfortable. Friendly atmosphere. Bar area is small. Beers served from fridge no draught beers. Basic breakfast.
