Very glad we stopped here for dinner and drinks during our visit to Canmore.

The food is VERY good. So well seasoned & with a great depth of flavour. The calamari (only 1/4 of it pictured here cause we ate it so fast) was perfect. The short rib pasta was a standout. The wagyu meatballs were a little less juicy than I would prefer but the amazing sauce they came with + potato purée made it stand out as well. The heirloom carrots were also SO flavourful.

The dishes are (slightly) smaller plates that are meant to be shared but, 3-4 plates for 2 hungry people was a good amount of food. The cocktails were delicious, I would’ve loved some more classic options that were less sweet, but what we had were delicious. The midnight cowboy in particular was great.

Long story short. Come here. Cozy, laid back ambiance. Heated patio. I live in Toronto and This place rivals most of the notable restaurants out there. Thanks for the great time!

Great cocktails 🍹sat at the bar and enjoyed a High Violet $16 cocktail. I tried the Bramble Rose $18 yesterday and I recommend that cocktail more. Tiny little restaurant and bar. Space for seating at bar and in restaurant could be utilized better with the entire bar cleared off for customers but a bookcase of records is blocking a 2 people from sitting at the bar. The bartender had to move decorative items from another part of the bar for me to sit at the seat that was open. Circular tables instead of square could maximize space and having swing in and swing out seating attached to the tables.

Staff seems overwhelmed. Need busboy, dishwasher and hostess. Bartender is in the back washing dishes. Install an automatic small glass dishwasher the the “Crazy Weed” uses so bartender is not washing her own dishes. Automatic as much as you can. Pints of water at the table would allow the customers to refill their waters themselves and allow servers and bartenders to focus on more money making items. Music could be louder and closer to theme.

The best food in Canmore. We came here twice on our visit and every dish and every cocktail was superb. Best food I've had in a long time. Service and atmosphere are also great.

That cheesecake...is my favorite dessert. And I'm not even a cheesecake person.

After three nights having dinner in Canmore, we can say this is the best restaurant we found in the city. Home-made taste food. Familiar atmosphere. We even chatted with two local guys who confirm us two things: 1) Canada is not place to come for food (except you are ready to pay a great bill); 2) this is the best restaurant in town. Don’t miss it!!!

Where the Buffalo Roam Saloon is a first come first serve establishment. We were seated promptly with a clean table and given time to review the food and drink menu. The drink we ordered came quickly. The deep purple was delicious & fruity and had a beautiful presentation. For food we ordered the short rib pasta and it was phenomenal. Great texture and flavour, I wish it had more microgreens to add additional freshness. We also had the fried cheese which delivered a nice soft spice kick and added freshness and acidity with the microgreens and tomato based sauce.

I will be back again. Price was reasonable for the service and quality of the food. Thank you for the great experience.

An absolute must. The menu is small but the offerings are impeccable. We went twice during our trip. The short rib pasta, calamari, and mulled wine are a must-try, but I have to add that I also really enjoyed the other cocktails I tried. They were all so unique My fiance had the waygu beef burger during our first visit and really liked it as well.
The ambience is warm and intimate, and eclectic.
The service was excellent and I loved that we didn't feel rushed to leave at the end of our meal.

It was a “DELICIOUS” Brunch!
I ordered the “salmon pieriogies” and ohhh what a flavours!
Hubs had chicken & waffles and also very good and our daughter the buttermilk chocolate chip pancakes.
Juices were fresh, ambience and the staff awesome.
Definitely we will be back !

This is what I call a hidden gem. We were definitely surprised at how good the food was here and the cocktails are to die for. The portions are great and are meant to be shared. The variety of flavors were also unexpected but amazing. The one thing that I would change would be the service. Although our server was nice and our food was brought out within a reasonable amount of time, she was working alone and was frustrated at how busy it got at one point (which is understandable), so her stressed out reaction wasn't really pleasant. Overall, still a great experience and I'll be back again.
