SmartClinics Brisbane City Family Medical Centre

The booking process was simple and efficient. Only 1 -2 hrs from online booking to talking to the Dr over telehealth (my first time). The admin were polite. The Doctor was excellent. All spoke Australian English perfectly. I was very happy with my experience.

I am so happy that Dr. Ash is now my regular GP at SmartClinics Brisbane City. I have a lot to cover in this review so read below:

Reception: The employees at reception are friendly and helpful, they helped get a telehealth consult and repeat-prescription that I lost out to a chemist for pick up within 24 hrs (all while my regular GP was on leave).

Smart Clinics Practice: The clinic has a unique system regarding costs and services. Smart Clinics is a private practice that offers bulk-billing for those with a health care card (youth/students/pensioners) on government assistance. I have never had to wait too long (I think the most was 5 mins) for my appointments. There is a desk, lounge, TV, and reading material that covers all their unique services including cosmetic services.

Dr. Ash: Dr. Ash has helped me recover from medical conditions I have been suffering with for years. I have iron-deficiency anemia (low serum iron, very low feritin, very low transferin satuation) but I do not have low hemoglobin. I had previously been told I could not get Ferinject iron infusion because I did not have low hemoglobin, and was on ferrograd-C for years with no improvement. Dr. Ash finally talked me through Ferinject, side effects, and procedure (which is performed at the medical center) and it all went smoothly and I finally have regained my energy! He also is helping me with and continuing to help me with hormonal acne, comedones, and post-inflamatory hyperpigmentation. I am on tretinoin and oral tranexamic acid which has reduced both significantly. I have some milia and skin tags under my eyes which he can cosmetically remove. If anyone is thinking about taking the plunge with an expensive referral to a dermatologist, please consider seeing Dr. Ash first. I am now seeing him in regards a few other issues and I have confidence in his assessment and treatment plans/options.

Was a good clinic. Just be careful not to share to much info, definitely if your friend is seeing the same doctor be very careful very

Dr Hugh Wall, can be very abrupt and uncompassionate - I highly recommend other doctors like Dr Ash and Dr Henry. Steer clear of Dr Wall if you're a female or have mental health stuff going on. The clinic staff are otherwise awesome, including reception.

Highly recommend Dr Hugh Wall, in particular for varicose vein / spider vein treatment. The cost of treatment with Dr Wall is very affordable in comparison to other quotes received from Leg Vein Clinic which was thousands of dollars out of pocket. Thank you to Dr Wall & Smart Clinics George St for making this service available. I am looking forward to having my legs on show in summer.
In addition I have been super impressed with customer service from the reception team. Their phone manner and skill is exemplary.

I had reason to try and set up an appointment at George Street Brisbane practice today, a practice I have attended for the best part of ten years. The service was provided by a lady from a non-speaking background who was extremely rude, patronising and obnoxious. Despite several attempts to get her to listen to my request, she constantly spoke over me, not allowing me to explain the siutation. I had to leave without completion of the task of setting up an appointment. as I was so upset with this person.This is the first time in the history of my association with the practice I have ever had reason to complain. I hope she will not continue to be regular staff at the George Street practice as I will have to change my GP practice, which I prefer to avoid. There is usually a very pleasant young man at reception on Monday and Tuesdays. I am very sorry he was not there today. He is exceptional as is Georgina.. I am surprised you have such an unpleasant individual in your employ, especially someone who provides fromt-of-line service to patients, many of whom are unwell when they present at the practice.
