Garden Park Animal “Clinic” nearly killed my dog! This place is disgusting and shouldn’t be allowed to “practice” veterinary care because that’s exactly what they’re doing, practicing. We took our 6mo old Black Lab there to be spayed and nearly didn’t leave her due to the fact that the place looked so sketchy and they don’t let you go back with your animals, even if it’s just taking them there for vaccinations or a checkup. There’s no reason to deny an owner to be with their animal for a routine appointment, unless your hiding something. After picking her up from being spayed, I was very concerned to see metal wires used for stitches. I have had numerous pets spayed over the years and never seen anything like this. However, I assumed because of the good reviews the place had that he must be doing something right. 5 days after surgery our girl developed a large mass just to the right of the incision site that had us concerned so I brought her back in the next morning to have it looked at. The guy at the front desk told me the doctor wasn’t in yet, but it was just some blood under the surface, it was quite “normal” and would have to be drained. He said I could wait but I needed to get to work so I reluctantly said I would leave her there and come back on my lunch to get her. He told me it wouldn’t take long and they would call me when she was ready. I felt very uneasy leaving her, and wish I would’ve trusted my gut because my girl tried like crazy to leave with me. She was trying to tell me something and I should’ve listened. 3 hours later when I hadn’t heard from them I called and was told she was just waking up, that there was a lot of blood and they had to put her under. I never consented to this and had no knowledge of my dog being put under anesthesia until AFTER it happened! He told me there would be a “drain tube” that she would have to go home with and they would show me how to drain it when I got there. Attached are photos of what I found. They tied a piece of string in a loop and told me twice a day I needed to move that string back and forth through the incision and then “catch whatever comes out with papertowl”. Are you kidding me!? This loop of string wouldn’t last 30mins with my dog as she would catch it with her back paw and pull it out, which would certainly result in her bleeding to death if it happened while we were gone. To add insult to injury, they wouldn’t give me my dog from the back until I paid for the anesthesia I didn’t authorize! The front desk person said he didn’t agree with it, but the doctor wont let him release the dog to me without paying the bill. This was a complication from their surgery 5 days prior and they made me pay for it! They also told me there was no infection, just blood. I didn’t even take my girl home. I went straight to a local vet hospital and they immediately cut the string out of here, resulting in a large amount of fluid to come out. They cultured that fluid and she had a huge infection which, left untreated would’ve killed her in a matter of days. I am so thankful for the wonderful people at the animal hospital who saved my girl after this place did their best to nearly kill her! They should be ashamed of the place their running and anyone who goes here needs to really think twice about it if you value the life of your pet.

Dr. Acosta is a highly experienced, practical and skillful veterinarian. He is a genuinely caring man and runs a real family practice. Not a corporate office. His daughter and son also work at the office gaining experience for their own futures in veterinary medicine. I do not feel that one could find a more personal and professional practice. Highly recommended.

This is the most unprofessional experience I have ever had with a vet... I work in animal rescue and go to MANY vets over the years. I was recommended this vet for dental for my cat. After my initial visit, this vet and his staff have just totally ignored my voicemails, calls.. everything. I cannot get this vet to call me back I don't understand. My cat is dealing with a stomatitis diagnosis and her mouth is extremely painful. She can't even eat without crying in pain and I've left multiple voicemails, spoken to all the staff, none of them can put me in touch with the vet. It's been over a WEEK now and I've been promised multiple times I'd hear from the vet and still nothing. I've just never had this bad of an experience with a vet before it's been really upsetting. I highly do not recommend. And I absolutely will not be recommending to any of my rescue teams.

Dr. Acosta is a true professional. He is knowledgeable, caring, attentive, and friendly. He, his wife, and staff genuinely care for their patients. Our golden doodle, Luna, has been lovingly cared for by them including during her pregnancy, delivery of 10 puppies, and recent spaying. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for excellent care for their pets.

I have a rescued dogo argentino! She is highly scared of everyone and really reactive and doesn’t like strangers! I was recommended this place they said they are good with working breeds like Lola and will do well with her! Well let me tell you how true that was! I am so impressed! He spent over an hour with us and was amazing! Was so patient getting her to trust him and Was able to check her out throughly and cut her nails without her reacting! By the end of the visit! She was jumping up on him to pet her and he was just petting this dog away! I’ve never seen her let anyone do that! I never thought I would see her let anyone do that! Thank you all so much!
