Positive: Location and staff are fantastic. Quiet motel. Negative: Room was not as clean as I expected. The no clean room policy due to Covid excuse does not play well. Should lower cost if we hey don¿t clean. TV channels are strange. Great for sleep and showers. Breakfast lady is the best.

Nice hotel. I'm a Best Western Rewards member and stay with them frequently for work and vacation. The location was great. Just on the edge of Apalachicola, but in the middle of so many things to see and do if you're on vacation. The rooms were clean and modern. No frills, but they get the job done. Service was pleasant getting checked in. I would stay here again.

My only regret was we got here so late and had to leave early. So kind and accommodating. We got some frozen meals at the piggly wiggly up the road cause it was late and everything else was closed already. We forgot silverware and the kind lady at the front desk got us covered. We had to leave early and they even provided us with some warm food before their start time. Felt like family almost and not just hotel guests. Adding this hotel to the great stops list. We will definitely be back.

The BW Apalach has been refreshed since my last stay there years ago. It's better than it used to be. Room was clean and the a/c cooled fine. Only minor complaint was the exhaust fan in bathroom didn't work so it got pretty steamy in there. Looks like some mold starting on the ceiling due to that. We put in a maintenance request for it before checking out.

Let me set expectations now. Apalachicola, FL., and nearby St George Beach, are what I would call 'drive past' locations. In other words, people heading to Pensacola, Destin or Panama City stay right on I-10 and drive pass right by this part of the Florida Gulf Coast.

For that reason, you don't get the high revenue income to support brand new shiny resorts, fancy hotels and tons of restaurants. With that in mind, what you get here are about four hotels, that are very basic and modest.

The BW Apalach Inn, is definitely an old style, doors facing the parking lot type hotel. It could use a little bit of face lift, maybe a paint job and some modernization in the rooms.

BUT, once you get beyond the physical (meaning old style) appearance on the outside. I can definitely say that the place was clean, the front desk staff was fantastic, the location was very convenient and the woman who cooks the breakfast very friendly, personable and helpful.

Bed-For my friend and I, the king size bed was comfortable enough. We had no complaints with it at all.
Room-Like I said some furnishing updates would help, but the presentation met our needs and the bathroom was sufficient.
Parking-Well that goes kind of quickly once everyone settles in for the night, but you can find some spaces at the extreme ends of the parking lot.
Food-They have a small breakfast area, that opens at 6am. We were there exactly a 6am, because we are Covid cautious and didn't want a lot of folks near us, or reaching over the food.
You had eggs, sausage, toast, juices, fruit, cereal and a waffle maker. The woman who handled everything was very attentive and pretty much made conversation with everyone.

We came primarily for St. George Beach, so we didn't explore any other parts of the city. But the hotel was just 15 minutes at the most from the bridge, requiring you to go over two bridges.

Advantages of the hotel, Apalachicola and St. George Island? Price and value!

-The St George Beach is easy to reach. -Parking is free at the beach, unless you pay the $4 to head over to the state park at the end of the beach island. -The hotel rates for the day we went, which was a Friday, was about 65% of what you'd pay for a similar hotel over in Destin (my favorite beach spot). -Downtown area is small, so it is easy to walk around and parking is plentiful, especially near the fishing boat dock area. -There are several restaurants, primarily seafood type places. I prefer the Apalachicola Seafood Grill. There are a few bars too, if you are into such things.

Bottomline- I like hotels with doors that open into a hallway. But for what we got and the price we paid, I do believe we got good value at the BW Apalach Inn.

We stayed here on 11/4/22-11/5/22, we came for the Seafood Festival and was very disappointed. This seems more like a Motel than a Hotel. The room was “somewhat” updated but the bath tub was a very old and deep jacuzzi tyke tub, that I would be afraid to even try to turn on, for fear of mold coming out. The drain in the tub and sink were closed, and I believe it’s to keep bugs out. The bed was comfortable enough to sleep, the room had a couch which my husband and I wouldn’t even touch, it just looked dirty and stained. There was a live roach that came across the bathroom floor in the morning (which I stomped to death) and beside the air conditioner was a spider wed with a couple dead roaches in it. I kept all our belongings in plastic ziplock bags and in our suitcase. I’ll stay in another town if we come back next year. The staff was friendly and the air worked fine. Just very disappointed for the price of $299.00 for a Saturday Night!!??

Its the best Best Western I've ever stayed at. Staff is super friendly and helpful and let's just say that I locked more than one key in my room and they continue to be patient with me lol!
