Primitive camping, beautiful scenery. Dolphin provide plenty of entertainment. Disappointing some don't follow "leave no trace" policy. Reservations required.

This whole chain of dredge islands, from south dredge all the way down to haul over canal, is probably my favorite place to canoe. I go in the middle of the week and rarely see anyone on the islands. The intracoastal still has traffic but not an excessive amount. Wildlife everywhere. The islands offer nice shell hunting and nearly always have sun bleached bones of various critters that i sometimes collect. I've camped on several islands and the sunrise and sunset are always amazing. Weather can blow in quick so if you're paddling keep an eye open. Morning is when the water is calmest. Winds usually kick up in the late afternoon. Some gators up this way but they tend to stay out of your way.

Just pulled up and camped, didn’t “reserve”. Nice spot, lots of areas to camp on this island. The only problem was the sand spurs are awful and people have left behind miscellaneous stuff. Great view of launch pads, sunrise and sunset, and dolphins.
