Interesting site with a cool fountain below the entrance and a water wheel. Walk up and continue through the town streets towards the main square. Very charming even if some buildings are a bit dilapidated. To the left of the gate along the river you can see the old granary buildings. They look majestic from the river side and there is a walkway below and a staircase 300 m farther. Also free parking at the bottom of the granaries by the river.

The 14th century Water Gate, from the times when Grudziądz was a heavily fortified trade centre of the Teutonic Order, connected the fortified granaries with the town walls and gave access to the Vistula port.

It's one of the most amazing places in town! When you look at the thickness of the wall, run your hand over the roughness of the bricks you can nearly hear the click clocking sound of hooves, the noise made by carts and crowds passing through this historical wonder.
This gate doesn't stand on its own but it's a part of greater building formation with a museum at its one side and granaries at the other with cobblestone road ascending to it. Very photogenic!

(Translated by Google) The only city gate that has survived to this day. The symbol of the city. The Old Town begins on one side of the building, and the Błonia Nadwiślańskie on the other side.

Jedyna zachowana do dziś brama miejska. Symbol miasta. Po jednej stronie budowli zaczyna się Stare Miasto, po drugiej stronie dojście do Błoń Nadwiślańskich.

(Translated by Google) It is this gothic gate that is the beginning of the picturesque old town of Grudziądz. We leave the old town along it near the Vistula River. In front of the gate there is a monument to the Rafter and the remains of an old mill

To właśnie ta gotycka brama stanowi początek malowniczej starówki Grudziądza. Ze starego miasta wychodzimy nią w pobliżu Wisły. Przed bramą pomnik Flisaka i pozostałości starego mlyna
