I had CO2 RE resurfacing done for the full face by Dr. Dmitrij Pukian. My face is destroyed now, this is my biggest regret in life. Side effects were not discussed and recovery should have taken 2-3 months. After 1 year and 4 months skin looks horrible, large pores, small scars (deeper lines) from laser, uneven redness and pigmentation all over my face, exaggerated texture, such as if deeper skin structure became less even. They expect me to pay for any corrections, which I can’t afford, corrections and need for several treatments also was not discussed, I was promised better skin in 2-3 months (such a lie!). Only when I complained several times, I was told you have this “unlucky” skin type and hence the results. (Is it really my fault, what does it tell about their competence? Should not they have told me this prior to procedure? I felt so betrayed and left with this horror on my own, searching for answers from other doctors, other peoples reviews, online articles and medical reports, the more information I gained the less promising and more confusing it became, in fact I have been to 7 different dermatologists) I had bad depression because of this. I am really very kind person, and this is my first negative review, but after what I have gone through I simply can’t ignore it. I was trying to find many reasons why it could have gone wrong and justify everything. But sometimes when I speak to dermatologists in particular about laser resurfacing it seems that they do not know what they are doing and their beauty standards are so low that they can damage the skin without any remorse. The last year of recovery was truly the worst in my life, I am still hoping that with more time my skin will gain more healthy look and I will find ways to correct it. If only someone told me that consequences would be so bad. Please be very careful when going for this procedure and always choose less area and gentler treatment. If there are other options better do several of them, rather than one strong CO2. Besides it’s very expensive. Doctors and organisations should take responsibility for their services, at least warning customers about side effects should be the least. And of course they should have insisted on more conservative approach, could have tested the small area of my skin, could have insisted on different procedure and explained why. Non of this was done. Seems like they don’t take responsibility for anything, for every subsequent treatment (which may not help) you will need to pay from your pocket. I have seen many reviews (on American “real self” website) where people report skin damage for life and subsequent treatments make it worse. I can only hope that this is not the case, and I will feel and look like myself again.
