Very incompetent and unhelpful. My car was stolen and when the internet helped me out and found it, it took these guys 2 times to determine the car was stolen. The first time they went out I called in and they basically told the person they could have my car because they didn't check properly. They went back a second time because the internet and people are awesome and pressured them to go back. They then found that the vin was removed and replaced and scratched out in 5 of the 7 places. Like how did you miss that a vin was tampered with and only a few of the locations were replaced???

After they seized the vehicle it took them a long time to tell me that they had found it. By the time I was notified, it had been racking up impound storage fees which they said they would pay a portion of up to the point where they notified my insurance company. Thing is they notified my insurance but not me. By the time I found out about it (which was already a while past the time they said they would pay for), I still needed to get all the paperwork (new vin $600, insurance $80, registration $60) done which increased the storage bill to about $600 which could have been less if there had been better communication. All the things I had to do took time like finding someone to get me to the car which is 2 hours away as well as getting the new vin and stuff so I would have appreciated it if I was given more notice.

When I went to pick up the vehicle, I was told that no key was recovered with the vehicle so now I need to spend more money to get that sorted out when they could have confiscated the key along with the car since it was being sold when they were notified which meant it had a key. And now at this point because it is illegal to change the lock and key, all I can do is get a new key cut but if the people who took my car find out where I am, they have a copy of the key to take the car again.

Contacting the person in charge of my case is impossible tried to call them a few times they are never at the office and I'm still waiting for her to respond to my voice mail the I left about mid August (it is now coming up to mid September). During what conversations I did have with the constable in charge of my case she was not empathetic at all, rude, and sounded like all she wanted was to get off the phone and do something else. She was very unhelpful and made me feel belittled.

So unless you want to be victim blamed for a crime, get no updates on a ongoing investigation involving you, and be treated like a second class citizen who isn't worth the time of day, I would suggest avoiding dealing with these people unless you have to like I had to.

Dispatch was great. But the following officer couldn't give two shits. Made a call for an officer to call me back about a drug house in my area, Nothing. So I made another call and a different officer answering saying he would call me back and again nothing. I tried one more time and again no call back.i don't know about other areas but here in blackfalds they are next to useless.

Complete waste of my time. What is their purpose? I will drive to Red Deer next time, hopefully they will provide some sort of service. The Blackfalds station has proved to be incompetent on more than one occasion.

My recent interaction with the Officers of the Blackfalds RCMP was nothing short of excellent. Professional, courteous, helpful, and most of all caring of a family member in dire need of help. I am very thankful for their help.

Those of you who give poor reviews based on the fact that your need for "instant" service from an overworked police force did not get "instantly" met... well, you need to grow up.

Friend of mine was getting harassed my a man and the people answering the phone and the officer in charge of the case were able to empathize with her and work with her to get started on getting help

Its so easy to get burned out in this line of work but glad to see some people do care. Even more so in smaller communities.

I phoned 4 days ago, left my info and asked for an officer to call me Regarding various issues we’ve been having with crime around our home. I didn’t ask for immediate assistance, all I requested was a phone
Call. If anyone in ANY other profession or field of work, neglected their duties they’d be reprimanded. I guess the RCMP work at their own pace, and as long as they say “short staffed” that’s enough to wipe their hands clean of it. Can’t wait to get rid of the RCMP and get this new local police force they’re speaking of.. 🤡

I recently had an experience with this detachment and all I can say is I am very impressed with how I was treated and dealt with. Every officer and individual was friendly and answered all my questions and in some cases went above and beyond the call of duty knowing they didn't have to. I will not mention names, thank you to all of you for being so professional and courteous.

I would like to thank Cst. Danielle Lohmann's great help after a car accident in Dec 2020. On Dec 22, 2020 I was driving on Highway 2 to Sylvan Lake from Edmonton for ice fishing. My mom and my little daughter (3 years old) were on the car with me. My SUV suddenly lost control after a left turn 4km before Lacome on Highway 2. It hit the cable barriers and stopped. Since that was my first time to experience such a big accident, I was really in panic. Luckily no one got injured. I got out my car and didn't know what to do. Cst. Lohmann stopped her RCMP police vehicle by the accident location in a couple minutes. She let us stay in our car and told us it was very dangerous staying beside a highway. After she checked my car and confirmed it was un-drivable. She let us get into the back seats of her police vehicle. She even helped move my daughter's car seat to her police car. In her vehicle she let me filled some accident record forms and let me call someone to pick up us from Lacombe. Then she arranged Popow Auto Recycling to tow my car. After my car was towed onto the platform of a towing truck to Lacombe, she gave us a ride to Tim Hortons and explained instructions what to do next. In the whole process, Cst. Lohmann was always friendly, professional and skillful. It released my panic very much. I couldn't imagine what more serious accident I could have got if without her nice help and instructions. I really appreciate her help from my heart.
