Beautiful building with an old world charm. The dishes were beautifully presented and tasted amazing. The lions mane mushroom is highly recommended!
An extensive alcohol list, the sommelier suggested some amazing wines that made the evening perfect. Would love to come back again soon.

What a great addition to Brisbane CBD! At the end of Queen St (South Bank side) there is this spot in the heritage building.

Menu is easy to follow. Good for lunch or dinner. Good for business or with friends.

Dishes were perfectly seasoned and very tasty. Good portion too.

This could become the go to place for fine dining and wine. Great evening with very attentive service. The wine list, the ambience and the fresh complex flavours create a wonderful evening. Highly recommended and will be taking Ms Boo there again soon.

My new favourite venue in Brisbane!

My friends and I attended a baby shower at Banc over the weekend and couldn’t have dreamed up a more special day. The food, the drinks, the wine list and the set-up for a private function was all perfect. The staff were super friendly and went above and beyond to cater for our group, helping us to set up a paint and sip afternoon, which was so much fun!

We can’t wait to go back. Thank you Banc Brasserie and Wine Bar!

Our group of 10 had a superb evening last Thursday dining in the private room. Dishes were shared and were all amazing and the food just kept coming. Portions extremely generous. The steamed and fried duck was to die for. Service was flawless and friendly. Thanks for the lovely evening Will!! I’ll be back with another group of 10 – can we please have the same menu that was served? 😊

I finally satisfied my curiosity regarding this restaurant and was impressed by the service from the hostess, who was very friendly. The dining area was beautifully decorated and we listened to older songs during lunch, which made us feel as if we were in a previous era. Medium steak was ordered and it was somewhat raw in the middle. The burger patty was very pink in the middle. The whiting was served with a few pieces of lettuce and sauce only. The food didn’t take long to arrive once ordered, which was good 👍. I think this place might be better enjoyed at dinner time as it would probably look more glamorous then.

We dined at the Banc restaurant for a Friday night dinner and I had mixed feelings about the place.

The food: Excellent food and generous servings. The tartare was the highlight followed by the steak. Cooked perfectly. No fuss, delicious French food.

The service: This was a major let down of the night, and sort of ruined the dining experience. They had one waiter for a whole large section, and he struggled to keep up with the service. He was friendly and trying to do his best, but it was obvious he was struggling. We were seated by the host, and after 20 minutes no menus were given. I had to request for the food menu, but no drinks menu was given. Had to request for the drink menu, but the waiter only gave the wine list and didn’t give the cocktail menu. Had to request again for that separately. Had to also request the waiter to explain what was on offer in terms of shared meats which were POA. Wine glasses and water never refilled. Missing setting on the table. The constant prompting was the problem, and especially the price they charge the food, you would expect better service. Or more staff! The service and attention to detail is probably more at the level of a casual suburban restaurant.

The other issue we had for the lengthy delay the food took to come out. We sat down at 7:30pm and ordered at 8pm (because the waiter took so long to give menus and take our order). The entrees came out quickly. But it was 9:45pm by the time the mains came out. Imagine waiting almost 2 hours for mains to come out.

We ended up skipping dessert because it was so late by the time we finished mains. Such a shame.

Ambiance: Cool atmosphere. Old bank, high ceilings.

Overall: Excellent food but I wouldn’t consider them a top notch restaurant because of their below average service, especially consider the prices they charge. I wouldn’t come back for dinner but this place would be good for a casual lunch or afternoon drinks.

Good food but expensive. $250 for two people (no wine just a couple of beers each).
Fabulous service from the enthusiastic and super nice young waitress there.
Kingfish was great entree
Steak for main was OK but should be great for $46
Dessert was good - needed more cure cream with it!
