It's a beautiful dam and lake. There is a visitor center with good information and nice models. I didn't see any picnic area at the dam site, just a few benches. I'd give it 5 stars, but it closes at 3:30, we got there at 2:30 and the entrance gate was already closed as well as the road to the top of the dam. I went through the exit side of the road to get in and the place was deserted, but the visitors center still open. But still a beautiful dam.

While there was no staff present at the visitors center, the informational displays were self-explanatory and quite nicely done. The information available here from not just this dam project but others under the auspices of the Army Corps of Engineers is impressive!

I go there often to fish in random places by the dam really good fishing if you have the patience to wait. Nice way to relax

They never open it when the sign sayes it opens in the morning. They close it at 3:30 pm so there for you have no time to fish in the evening unless you walk a half a mile to get there. They need to just leave the gate open all the time and when the lock the gates so you can't drive to the dam they also lock all of the bathrooms.

Great time Beautiful place the stream of water looks great nice and clear But haven't caught any fish yet
