I really wanted to like this point, but it was just too far north for me.

I thought this was the north'WEST'ern-most point in Virginia. I really messed up this delivery.

There is no any sign or landmark, no mark to show the state border. No view. Just a unpaved dirt road passing this point through woods.

The NW point is definitely NOT the rocky mountain photo.

This is cool if you like boundaries and benchmarks and just really want to see it. Otherwise, you’re going to drive right past it going to the Overlook. Make sure you find it’s approx location on the map, then look for the tree with the markings b/c there’s nothing else to indicate the point. Also, there’s no parking for it and technically you’re not supposed to park on the roadway. You can always park at the overlook and walk back and forth. Not a bad or even hard walk.

If you want to be in Virginia, but as far from the Equator as possible, I have the place for you! The Northernmost Point of Virginia (TM) is close to Overlook Trail, trees, um... other parts of Overlook Trail... um... a raccoon... um... and... anyway, fun for the whole family!
