Yes, it is amazing!!! The ride is super fun!!! The area is breathtaking with beauty. Durbin, West Virginia is an extremely small town without much other than the railroad. The train travels along The Greenbriar River and comes to a stop at a Caboose hotel. You can move all around the train cars and enjoy the views from every angle. At the stop, everyone is allowed to get off of the train and check out the river and all of the surroundings. The very best part is the engineer, he gave us all an entertaining history of the railroad and the area.

Enjoyed riding the train up to the waterfall. Just over a 4 hr round-trip, with some time to admire the Falls. Would have been way better in an open air car, but overall a good trip

Decided to take a train ride last minute, glad we did! We chose the 2 hour Durbin Rocket ride for $47 an adult. For the best view for this ride, sit on the side furthest away from the road. But you are able to walk around/stand/move to other rooms while moving. You travel in one direction for an hour, have a 30 minute break to get out and take some pictures, then head back the same way for the last hour. You are allowed to bring food and drinks for the ride! Ice-cream and souvenirs across the street for after!

For the record, the website said you need a printed ticket, but no one ever asked for one, so I don’t think they’re needed while checking in!

Beautiful Ride HOWEVER my dad is paralyzed it's not handicap accessible. They did very very little to help. We relied on the kindness of strangers to help

What a great ride, my husband and I both enjoyed. The highlight was walking down to the waterfalls! Only issue was…. The riders on our car were so loud we couldn’t hear the speaker with the history and announcements. If they would ask that the riders keep quiet when the speaker comes on it would really help!

Ride the trains and visit all the sites. The snows are coming. WV is beautiful. Enjoy nature and see what the state offers and the people who love it.

This scenic railroad has two classic F type diesel engines. Comfortable cars, and a very scenic route though the West Virginia mountains.

Nice leisurely trip on the New Tygart Flyer to the High Falls on the Shavers Fork of the Cheat River. Parlor Car was well worth the upgrade; great view out of the rear of the train on the return trip. Hostess on the Parlor Car was great and super friendly and although it was "just" made to order sandwiches, chips, drinks, and pie, the quality was very good; best sandwich I have had in a while. Our trip was on the morning of the first snowfall of the season and the scenery was awesome. Conductor pointed out history and interesting facts along the way. Total trip was about 4.5 hours and we stopped at the falls for about 40 minutes. Will do the trip again in Springtime/Summer when the rhododendrons are in bloom!
