The chief of police is very fair and tries to do his job to the best of his ability but he has not had the chance yet to weed out all of the Power hungry officers and please be careful because there are a few City police officers who will pull you over for absolutely no reason and then search your vehicle just trying to find something to get you in trouble with and if they can't find anything they will pull you over other times and if they still can't find anything they will manufacture a situation where they can Moorefield is a notorious trap you will end up with a criminal record even though you don't do anything wrong.

Granddaughter was away at school and came back into West Virginia stopped at Moorefield. She was stopped and given a citation for expired State sticker. She attempted to explain to the officer that she had been away at college and wasn't able to get it inspected. Apparently the officer was not aware of the law that allows resident 10 days to get a new sticker ,after returning to the state. Contacted the City Judge, and Chief of Police to explained the situation. I was advised that I could have a hearing in court to contest the ticket. So, drive 325 miles to contest the ticked was my relief. Not a good town to visit, is my relief .
