Nice little place, can't wait to see it when things start to bloom and the river starts to recede. The weather was perfect it was like a spring day today.

The ORINWR Vistor Center is clean and welcoming. There are well equipped meeting rooms, clean restrooms, and an interesting display of live native mollusks. The staff is friendly and ready to assist. Surrounding the Center are pollinator gardens of native species and a handicapped accessible trail with an arboretum. There is a sitting area on a back porch where one may observe many different birds and squirrels.

I went on a rainy day, so I walked around quickly. There were short trails down to the river, wasn't able to get any photos either. I would love to return on a better day.

Wonderful river island visitor center. Several live aquatic displays and very detailed fresh river water mussels display and aquarium. Wildlife area and pleasant hiking trails in area near the Ohio River. It's a worthwhile stop when visiting the area.

One of my favorite places to spend an afternoon. There are a few mowed trails by the river, a paved pollinator habitat to walk through, and upland trails on the hill across the road from the refuge.

The refuge also hosts many clubs and events throughout the year that are excellent opportunities for families and individuals looking to learn more about the natural world and meet like minded folks.

There are moth nights, pollinator counts, and bird walks just to name a few of the activities.

I especially enjoyed being able to view so many native species of birds at the feeders just outside the window of the visitor center when the weather was so cold!

Very nice visitors center with some walking trails and educational material on the Ohio river islands protection and restoration. Learned so much about the river mussels and history of the river.
