Alot of fishing bits left over on the shores, clean waters, not alot of shade but i think it was because we actively didnt find a spot that had shade

This is a great lake to fish in the summer, plenty of trees in the water but not enough most times to get congested. There are big bass in the lake and all sorts of other fish to catch. The main bank near the boat ramp isn't large but there are plenty of places near the road to fish at, if one wanted to; Lots of parking most days. WARNING, this lake is a very open lake, so it does receive a fair amount of wind, so you'll want to plan for that if you don't want to fish a windy day. **Edit** (Summer of 2021 there were portable restrooms in the parking lot of the lake).

Great place to fish, if it's fished early during pre spawn..after that to many boaters throwing lures and catching all this fish..all boaters go to the same spots one right behind the other . But nice place to try..really big bass if your lucky enough to catch one that hasn't been cought 20 times 😂

A beautiful lake with a reputation for bass fishing. Boaters should be careful of old tree trunks still standing beneath the water's surface. the boat ramp is 2 lane and there is a dock.
The parking lot and boat ramp have no lights, so plan accordingly.

Great place to enjoy a day of fishing. Easy to use boat ramp.Bank fishing for Bass & Catfish is good, but being in a boat it opens up so much more. Alot of stumps to fish since it's all flooded timber beware of stumps just under the water great to fish but hard on the boat keep your eyes the stumps.

Elk Fork Lake is located out Gay Road off Route 33 from Ripley, WV. It's a beautiful lake that is man made for fishing and boating.

Free to use!!
Great parking area to enjoy the lake for fishing!
There are a lot of trees in the water so no fash speed boats allowed in this lake, but trowling motors allowed and perfect for kayaks.

There is no bathroom facilities and no picnic tables. No playground or even trash cans.

My first time on the lake. Went with friend to try his boat. Fish were hitting top water. The lake has several tree stumps and dead trees still standing in the water. So be careful.
This is a nice lake. With a good boat launch.
