Orkin

Orkin has been to my dad’s apartment 7 times for bed bugs. Every time, they make you take everything apart, which I understand they need to do to get all areas of the apartment, but making someone strip their apartment 7 times for something they claimed they could fix in 1 or 2 visits is absurd. 5 of those times, they essentially made my dad take his entire apartment apart just to spray the bugs with water, that’s how ineffective they were. The 6th time they were there, they tried something different which entirely got rid of the bugs for about a week or 2, and now the bugs are back worse than ever. We called again to get them to come for the 7th time, and they scheduled themselves to come today, August 28, 2018, for a minimum of 5 hours between 8 AM and 5 PM, and my dad had to take his apartment completely apart AGAIN, including taking everything out of drawers and closets, removing the electric outlet covers and wooden baseboards. My dad is 60 years old and has terrible back problems, which he has had multiple surgeries for, and they’ve made him do this 7 times now. Today comes along and the guy just decides that he’s not even going to do anything until August 31st. So my dad spent his entire day yesterday this time taking the apartment completely apart just to have this guy tell him that he’s not going to do anything, and that my dad has to live in his stripped apartment for 3 more days, all because of Orkin’s incompetence to properly exterminate the bugs the first 6 times and inability to work when scheduled or at least properly notify a delay beforehand, so that this doesn’t happen. Anyways, I would never recommend Orkin’s service to anyone. You’d honestly be better off trying to get rid of your pest problem by yourself. They are unprofessional and have no idea how to do what they are paid good money to do. Being blunt, this 1-star review I’m giving them is too generous. They don’t even deserve that 1-star, they deserve negative stars, but Google won’t allow that and this is the minimum. So unless you enjoy horrible service and having to live in a dismantled apartment for no good reason, do not, I repeat, DO NOT, ask Orkin to take care of your issue. They aren’t capable of “taking care” of anyone or anything but themselves and their bank accounts. My dad did more for his bed bug issue at his apartment with a homemade mixture in an old spray bottle than Orkin did in 5 months with top of the line equipment and chemicals, plus he obviously didn’t treat himself as a paycheck like the guys from Orkin did.

Orkin came out quickly when I first called. They sprayed inside and I think outside. I didn't go it with him. It was raining so I don't know if that made a difference or not. He sat a couple mouse traps. A few days later I called again about the mouse issue. They came the same day and set some traps and we still have the mouse. We still have lots of ants, spiders and other 4 legged bugs. The lady told me it was because there was a mountain dew can on the patio table out front. Don't sure if the can bright the ants to the back patio or not. Than there was a very large brown spider with a large web outside the dining room window. I took pictures and attached then to the text message they sent me about leaving this review because the message said to text them if I had any questions. So I attached the pictures and told them about this spider. Not one word back from them. I wasn't going to do this review until I heard back from them. But decided to go ahead and leave a review....I have said all to say I am NOT at all pleased with Orkin's service.

We appreciate Orkin. We had a great guy for over a year who would text me to let me know when he planned to come and ask if that was alright. He went above and beyond! When he left, we got a bunch of different people who wouldn’t tell us when they were coming unti the day of or as they were coming and they weren’t very engaged. The most recent guy who came out was great though. So hopefully we’re on an upswing...

The absolute best experience during our tragedy! We could not have found a more competent company to get rid of our pests. They made the whole experience as easy as possible and answered my numerous questions. We will only use Orkin for our pest control needs. (Also beat a competitors price and saved us $600!!)

Very pleased with all aspects of our business. Quick response from the inspection to the installation of the bait stations. Our sales lady was top notch and the serviceman who came to install the bait stations was very thorough and professional- explaining everything and what to expect. We are very pleased!

Been onboard with Orkin for years now and have never had any problems with their services. They always call me the day ahead of time and Mike is always on time. Never had a bug problem and he makes sure to that it stays way.

Polite and professional. The guy they sent out to give the estimate made me feel comfortable having a man in my home when I was alone. Overall, no complaints. They were beat out by Terminix because I could get whole home pest control and make monthly payments. Otherwise, their services were reasonably priced from my research.

I feel they try to pressure people into a contract without knowing for sure what the issue is. Could easily persuade an elderly person to pay for unnecessary service. No elderly person that lives alone could possibly do all the prep work alone.
