Martinsburg Regional DMV Office

I just moved from North Carolina to West Virginia and this is my first time living in another state. Christine at the counter was so incredibly kind and helpful. She walked me through everything she was doing and directed me to the next office I’d need to go to. She even recommended restaurants for me to visit that were near where I’d be going. The wait time may have been long but that wasn’t too surprising for the DMV.

Can never get in to see anyone without long lines!! And when you talk to someone on the phone they tell you one thing, you get there and talk to different teller, they tell you something different!! Not enough staff for all the work... eliminate the work!! WHy do we need to buy new tags every so many years!!! One Tag per vehicle ONCE per life of the vehicle!! This would eliminate all the people having to go to the DMV all the time... STOP the GREED!!

I took my grandson there yesterday (7/25/22) to get a state id for work purposes. After standing in line for 45 minutes, we were told that they weren't able to do id's because the system is down! Why couldn't they have posted this on the door coming in or made some kind of announcements every so often to eliminate people waiting in line all that time for nothing? I can't rate the service because I never received any!

Took my friend there , waited 3 hours before they call his number . Very slow service . They Work more slower than the turtle.

Let’s preface this with the fact that I had called WV DMV AND asked in person what documents I needed for a name change following a marriage- and both times told that I can use the social security admin. receipt.

Fast forward to the day of my visit. 3-5 employees working 15 windows. 3 employees checking clients in. Packed. Almost every seat taken.

So I check in. The employee looks at all of my documents and gives me a green light! I end up leaving to get a title so that I could update that as well.

Come back and a SECOND employee checks my documents and gives me the green light. I sit and wait for 2 hours to be told that the social security receipt is not acceptable and I needed to come back with my new social security card.

2.5 hrs. Its my turn for licensing. The lady was more interested in her co worker's jokes, than processing my licenses. Before it was complete the computers went down for an undetermined amount of time. I got nothing accomplished. I'll drive to Kaiser next visit.

It's DMV... No one wants to be there, I doubt even the employees do. So all things considered? Way better than most others.

Very busy,when I showed up at 10 there was only 1 lady helping people in line. Evidently 2 more came to help. It took 2 and a half hours to renew my license.
