My Amtrak train to Washington, D.C. departed from this exceptionally well-designed, clean and beautiful station in Winter Park, Florida.

Unfortunately, earlier in the day I had accidentally boarded a SunRail train rather than the Amtrak train and ended up in Lake Mary, several local stops to the north, so my sister had to drive for over half an hour to pick me up and drive back to this station in Winter Park.

When we got back to this station in Winter Park, I had to pay Amtrak an $84 supplement to buy a new ticket for a later train that evening. I had two and a half hours before departure so I walked two blocks to a Starbucks on Park Avenue to use its WiFi while having a coffee.

While at the Starbucks, I checked my train’s status and learned the Amtrak train was now arriving 45 minutes late due to track work.

This station has no WiFi, but it does have a men’s and women’s toilet and comfortable seating area with television. The large windows provide outside views and sunlight, and a loudspeaker is used to inform arriving and departing trains and give out other information.

The Amtrak agent who issued and printed out my new train ticket was both helpful and efficient.

There are additional benches outside for anyone who wishes to sit there. A homeless man hung around this station indoors and outdoors for several hours, with a few paper bags containing some of his earthly belongings. He was harmless and probably looking for a handout. However, this is definitely one of the most attractive small train stations that I have ever seen. This Station normally closes at 8:00 PM, after the last Amtrak train has departed.

I was just in town visiting this past Saturday. I thought it'd be neat to get some information on trips to Winter Park but the ticket office was closed and all of the kiosks seemed down. The station seemed well taken care of, however. I'd like to come back another time and check out the surrounding park and businesses a bit more.

What a beautiful train station in the midst of downtown Winter Park. Great site for a day trip and photo op. Both Amtrak and Sunrail stops here.

Lovely station and well kept. Would really like to see Sunrail be more Parent friendly and accessible- especially for parents with strollers, extremely difficult to make the parents break down the stroller with multiple little children and then bring them aboard safely without a ramp. I watched this couple miss the train - all because the assistant working that day would neither help them(direct them on where to go or even assist them) with their stroller nor wait for them to load safely with their children. She just watched them struggle then signaled the train to leave. Shame on sunrail!

Would like to specify this attendant was on the train - watched the parents struggling told them they needed to break down the stroller and then signaled the train to leave though they had not boarded yet.

Customer service was very helpful. The train experience was clean and quiet - very well done for a commuter rail. All stops on the train were conveniently located.

Rode the sunrail from debary to winter park and back. The station and area are very clean. The price is very affordable. 65 and older are half price. I paid $7.50 (full price) for a round trip ticket. A one way ticket allows to to get off at multiple stops. No eating on the train but drinks are acceptable. The train is air conditioned. Masks are required on the station and train. You can purchase a ticket at the station with cash or credit/debit card. I recommend cash. There are little kiosks at all the stations. You must place (tap) your ticket at the kiosks before boarding the train AND when you exit the train. The trains run frequently but it's easy enough to review the north and south bound schedules. There are places to stow a bicycle or stroller. Plenty of free parking and an attendant is at the station if you need assistance. There are lots of restaurants and shops on park Ave at the winter park station.
