I went to courthouse to pay my son's ticket. It was clearly marked on the ticket that $233 was owed by cash or cashiers check. I got the cashiers check made at the bank. Once at the courthouse to pay I was then told that the officer didn't charge enough - it was $238. I had my son's certificate from the driving class he took online so that he wouldn't be assessed points. Since we hadn't been through this before and didn't know if the certificate was already file, I opted to pay another $7 to have it recorded! (Afterwards I was told those certificates were sent, online, to Tallahassee and that I didn't need to file locally). So I pulled out my debit card to pay the extra $12. OMG - I then was charged $.42 for debit card fees! Enough already ok? If I treated the customers in my business this way there would be serious repercussions!

The officers of this department violated the constitutional rights of a civilian by destroying his cameras and stalking him. Claiming they were reporting to a "felony warrant" when there was no crime committed and no outstanding warrants. Not only that but when questioned about the incident, their superiors defended the blantantly illegal actions of his officers.

I never thought I'd say anything about the police.

Usually try to stay clear of them and just let them do their job.

However today was the first time in my life where it seemed like they cared. I had someone hit my car and drive off long story short and horrible day.

Officer Rivers actually took the time to speak with me as I was having a panic attack and was very helpful and informative. Helped me out and got the right paper work and told me what I needed to do. I was so surprised by that and the time he took.

They are real people who deserve our support. I have new respect because of that.

If you have had a bad experience, my guess is you probably were doing something you shouldn't have.

My wife, friends, and I chose Vero Beach to relax and get away. With today's social media storm of police negativity, it is time to give a positive experience.
Being strangers in town, we were lost and found no reel help from some locals. We had heard of a chilli cooking event we wanted to attend. While walking around looking for assistance, we noticed a police officer sitting in a corner lot. I approached herto ask. She exited her vehicle and graciously asked what we needed. She was incredibly polite, calm, sincere, and helpful. She looked through her phone for quite awhile trying to help. With no answers, she went to the radio and received the information. She then went out of her way to give us perfect directions.
It is easy for citizens to bash what they are doing. I can't imagine everyone anylizing every move I make at my work and never doing it correctly in your eyes.
Thank you Officer L. We will be back to Vero and hope to see you then. God Bless you and your entire department.

While at a baby shower in Vero beach, my self and some friends all parked on 14th Street (2 on one side and 1 on the other). Upon leaving we noticed That 1 and only 1 of us had a ticket. Upon reaching out to them about why 1 of the 3 cars got a ticket and the others did not, they said that it was untrue. They said only one of the 3 stayed in the same spot the whole shower and that the other 2 had switched places. since we were all together and no one left the shower that "fact" is not possible.

This is a biased comment. I received a parking ticket for parking backwards in angle parking. Did not know that it was a law in FL. I told them (lady at front desk) I did not know that and that I was a law abiding citizen and she insisted I pay. I was in the wrong but man that sure seem picky. It was only $32 bucks but my ego got hit the worst. Lol😂 I think on there part at the most a warning would’ve been appropriate or at least drop the charge after explaining it to them.

Sincerely,

Feel that they went above and beyond by helping me to check on a property while i was out of town. Bad tenant moved and left house wide open. Officers responded quickly and courteously and didn't give me attitude that they had more important things to do (which they did, I'm sure). Thanks!

I lost a dog a few weeks ago and this department caught him in a short time. Unfortunately he was not secured properly and he escaped again. A week later this department was called, I was called, and he was back safe with me. I have to thank this department for securing this pup while I responded and got him home safely.
