I've purchased several items here and always been happy with the selection and service. The jeweler's name is Mr. Strogonoff and if you sign up for his newsletter, he'll send you a letter monthly with the latest new items in his inventory, plus an informative page on the history of a different type of jewelry. Some items I've seen there are Chinese round (not Biwa) pearl necklaces and earrings (at 20% the cost of Japanese pearls), pendants made from coins from the Atocha and other wrecks, and gold filigree crosses of extraordinary detail from the 19th century. Highly recommend.

had 1 item to have "appraised". Bob looked at it under a microscope & some different lights & said it was a man made stone. Total time was less than 2 minutes & he charged me $50.00, WOW did I get taken, will never use his "services" again. At these prices I can see how he has the inventory that he has. Nice enough guy but not $1500.00 per hour nice.

My favorite jewelry store. They treat you like family. Made some fabulous finds. Mr Stroganoff is the most knowledgeable and friendly jeweler I've met.

I had a beautiful platinum ring that I had purchased at Genna jewelers. it was all diamonds but the Centerstone was a cubic zirconia and I was waiting to find the perfect stone to put in the center. I went in Oceanside jewelers and I stumbled upon a huge 5 carat aquamarine. The owner was eager to sell it to me and he suggested that I put it inside my platinum ring. I thought it would be too big of a stone but he said he could have prongs that came out from the face of the ring and it would look magnificent. I paid almost $5000 for an aquamarine and he sent it out to have it mounted. When the rain came back I noticed that it was all black underneath and it wasn’t smooth they had use some kind of a laser or something to cut it but the big stone covered that so I didn’t pay too much attention and I wore it to my daughter’s sixth grade graduation. When I got back in my car after about an hour and a half and I looked at my hand in the stone was gone. I rushed back and I was able to find the stone laying on the floor. One of the mothers joked and said good thing you found it because we would’ve thought it was some Jewel from the kids art project and thrown it away. That was the first clue that something was wrong. I went Back to Oceanside jewelers and spoke with the owner he’s an elderly man approximately 77 years of age and he insisted that the ring and the stone fell out because I was too rough and that he was not going to reimburse it or repair it. I said you think I’m too rough? And he screamed at me and said yes get out of my store I’m not giving you your money back and I left in tears. This was literally three hours after I had pick the ring up. I knew something was wrong so I went across the bridge to Don Traver’s office and he tested the Stone and setting. He said the reason why the stone fell out was because they used 14 karat gold instead of platinum to mount The aquamarine to a platinum ring. The the owner of Oceanside had insisted over and over that it was going to be platinum just like the ring and that it was platinum and he basically lied. Don Traver from my private jewelers he is now deceased called Oceanside jewelers and said this is not platinum whoever you had set the stone did not use platinum. The owner of Oceanside jewelers said bring it back and I’ll test it myself. so I went across the causeway and the old man at Oceanside jewelers returned the money that I had paid for the stone and to have it set but he never offered to fix my ring. I didn’t even think to ask him. Until I went to Genna jewelers and they told me that in order to restore it to its original state it was gonna cost $5000. according to Genna jewelers who initially made the ring for me from a mold the only way to repair this ring would be to remove all of the diamonds and re-mold it. This will cost $5000. I contacted Oceanside jewelry and they have ignored my phone calls. So they took a ring they ruined it and then they never returned it back to its original state. He never offered to fix it. I’m just letting you know if you do business with him or anybody in that store including his daughter and wife who knew about the situation but never intervened “buyer beware”and they also said the stone that I bought was a low quality stone. I overpaid. I have since contacted Oceanside jewelers to ask them if they would repair the ring to its original state or give me money towards the repair and they have ignored my phone calls and emails. Do not Do business with them!
