The Sweet Spot Desserts & Cake Supplies

I never buy baked goods if I can make it better from scratch myself, but this shop has just replaced me as family baker! The cupcakes are beautiful, but more (or most) important - they're delicious! The cake part is dense and moist, and the (buttercream?) icing is so full of flavor. I spotted a really gorgeous custom baby shower cake and matching cupcakes in the case too - we'll definitely be coming here for all our special occasion treats and cakes. Our first birthday order was great - and we had one leftover in the back of the fridge, and two weeks later it was still amazing.

Unfortunately, a picture is worth a thousand words. Messy fondant, uneven letters, uneven rhinestones, badly written "Mr & Mrs." and the cake itself was lopsided in appearance.

Our wedding was at the Pelican Grand Beach Resort, so this was not a little backyard shindig. This cake was supposed to be our unique wedding cake. It's a moment from our wedding day that we can never get back. Very disappointed.

If what we requested could not be done, we would have understood. We emailed to confirm our details and colors - to which there was no reply. We asked to receive a preview photo of the cutout letters to be sure it would like nice - no photos received. The night before the wedding before it is to be dropped off, we received a photo. At this point, we were in a bind.

In the midst of dealing with an unpresentable cake, we also received texts as if we weren't intending to pay the final payment. The rush was for....this? We had every intention of paying our invoice, despite the ugly cake. We provided the bakery with details on how to deliver, where to deliver and the hotel was fully aware that a cake would be dropped off. We were extremely organized, the last minute panic about the money would have been better spent on creating the cake we paid for.

A couple weeks later after the wedding and everything passed, we called to give feedback and received no level of concern. We didn't call irate or upset, we expressed that the taste was good but that it was not we envisioned, not even close to what we discussed. I attached the draft that was drawn by the owner compared to what we received. The letters were supposed to be blush, not even the colors were right.

Our moment, our money, our vision, our business was not valued, it was very disappointing.
****Update: the nasty response from the owner is the kind of professionalism you can expect with dealing with her - none. Do not be fooled by IG pics like we were. What you pay for, you do not get. She tried to give a cake to a child INSTEAD of the Pelican staff as INSTRUCTED - their doing, not ours - why would y’all hand a cake to some child? She 1000% stands by a lopsided, plastic/non-edible crystal covered, messy fondant, wrong colored cake. Where’s the video of the perfect cake she supposedly made? How it’s pictured is EXACTLY how it was received. My evidence is clear. Cheers***

I recommend this place for sweets..
To make you knownyou are getting value for your dollar the cupcakes look larger with the excessive amount of beautifully done sweet icing they top and design with. (Better too much than not enough, I go back and eat icing also) The flavors are good to me, the blue and red velvet are missing just a little something but are good. Nice variety. They also have cookies and ice cream. I have been a few times and will keep going. I see how customer service USED to be a problem but since I have been going there has always been friendly welcoming employees there. I want some cupcakes from there now.

Just want to say your cupcakes are always delicious. I purchased some for an event this past weekend and everyone loved them! The young ladies are always friendly when I go and the cupcakes are ALWAYS fresh. The red & blue velvet are my favorite 😍

The owner came to dine into my job with her husband and kids. Everybody is absolutely LOVELY! I was so curious to try the desserts, I was at work so I couldn’t go myself but got my cousin to stop by for cupcakes! Man they are so good! Y’all gotta come try these sweets ♥️♥️

Look...This place and what goes on here is MAGICAL. The fusion of Flavors are beyond the taste senses, my family and I venture to The Sweet Spot on Sundays to pick our dessert after dinner and I have yet to meet a dessert that hasn't had me looking seconds! Sweet Spot keeps it up, I soon will be wobbling in and out but I definitely will not stop coming thru. Thank you ladies and keep up the Wonderful work.

That cake on the picture is Sweet Potato Cheesecake and yes it is good as your mind think it is, believe me!

My family and I enjoyed the fresh cake slices and cupcakes, especially the sweet potato pie flavored one! Very presentable and nice packaging that made it very easy to carry and load in and out of the car. The desserts were just the right moisture and taste. Our taste buds were dancing. It satisfied our sweet tooth. Thanks The Sweet Spot!!! You’ve earned a repeat customer.

Before I moved to Japan, I used to visit the Sweet Spot 3-4 times a week because the cakes and cupcakes were beyond amazing. The staff, especially Brooke and Breanna are so friendly and accommodating. Whenever I called they would mention me by name and it made me feel special. The owners are great people -very warm and welcoming. Hands down this is the best bakery in South Florida and the best cake I’ve ever eaten. After being in Japan for a year,
I came to the bakery yesterday and asked Lykeisha the baker to make my favorite Keylime cake since I’ll only be in town for three weeks and she made it today! I bought two slices.
I love the staff and the bakery and if I could give this place more than 5 stars I would. Sweet Spot is definitely THE SPOT. Highly, highly recommend it!
