TL;DR: excellent service, absolutely horrible skincare practices. I have concerns about the hygiene of the spa, the esthetician's expertise, and the type of products used. I would NOT recommend this spa for any type of invasive treatment, including extractions, microneedling, etc - all of which they offer.

I vacillated about posting this review since it is a small business, but I cannot in good conscience hide my experience because I had so many concerns about my own treatment. I get facials and skin treatments often, I consult with a dermatologist regularly, and I am well educated on the latest techniques in skin care.

I visited twice- once to buy my mom a facial, which is when I had a positive experience. I visited again to receive a treatment, which is when I noticed the negatives.

The owner of the spa was the esthetician that administered my treatment.

The negatives:

- I did not see any esthetician's license on display
- There were no sheets on the treatment table or pillow.
- The esthetician used a walnut scrub on my face (!!!!), which I might not have noticed except that she bragged about the products she uses after the facial. She handed me a tube of cheap face wash that is readily available in any Target. I do not believe they use high quality products in this spa.
- The extractions were EXTREMELY painful
- The owner of the spa advertises that they offer a hydrafacial as a service. They do not. I was told it was an "off brand machine", but during treatment I found that what they offer is a water jet on the face, there is NO peel or microdermabrasion involved. I also did not receive this treatment over the entirety of my face.
- During the fake hydrafacial, the esthetician wipes the serum/water off the skin as soon as the wand passes, basically rendering it useless.
- A vitamin C serum was applied after a water based facial, which any skin care professional knows will cause oxidation, creating a risk of sun damage, carcinogens, and hyperpigmentation.
- The treatment involved collagen lotion when anyone who has read research on the topic knows that collagen molecules cannot be absorbed through skin. This lead me to believe that the esthetician/owner was not knowledgable about products or their efficacy.
- The esthetician confused the purposes of red and blue light.
- The esthetician went to stretch and massage my thighs and legs, without asking permission. I found this strange but went with it since I believe that a healthy body means healthy skin. I told her twice during this 5 minute period that my ankle was sprained. She acknowledged me but apparently didn't listen. She attempted to stretch my injured ankle and caused me a lot of pain.
- The esthetician told me to treat my chronic dermatitis in a wat that was completely the opposite of what I've been told by a board certified dermatologist. I am very uncomfortable with the fact that she felt qualified to provide any type of medical advice.

The positives:

This spa was recommended to me by a freelance makeup artist who uses her services.

Noone was there when I arrived for an appointment due to an emergency, but they answered my call and we were able to reschedule.

They made it very easy for me to come in and check out the spa before booking and pre-paying for a facial as a gift for my mom. I received a full tour of the treatment rooms and an overview of services they offered. The esthetician seemed very knowledgeable and stressed that they use stringent methods to ensure cleanliness.

My mom loved the treatment she received, and her skin looked very clean, smooth, and bright the following day. They also gifted her flowers and a bag of goodies for her birthday, which was customer service above and beyond what I expected.

She has been hit with a cease and desist letter from the medical board for unlawfully practicing medicine and upon further investigation it was determined that she wasn’t even a licensed esthetician at all. Steer clear of this facility! It’s dangerous to knowingly practice medicine without a medical license or to portray yourself as any type of licensed professional when you are not.
This isn’t slander but the truth that so many people need to hear. So many people trusted her and she scammed them all. So sad. I hope no one was injured it her time of playing doctor.
