Tone Shop Guitars

This is a great place to find high quality instruments. Recently picked up an Fender American Professional II from the Addison store. The guys delivered from the Southlake store to save me time, and set up a private test drive. The Fender is AMAZING, but that is another review. I really like the laid back atmosphere (No sales pressure). They let me look, pickup and play, and don't ask me 20 times if I need help but the are attentive if I need help. I appreciate looking and thinking, they are so accommodating and will keep coming back. The inventory is unlike any Guitar Center or music store I have visited - there are walls and walls of high end Taylor, Fender, Gibson, Custom Shops, and all new models. Their website is also great for updating inventory.

I went in today with my first ever guitar which was a gift from a friend in not so great condition. They guys at the shop helped teach me how to tune my guitar and went over how to choose which pick would be right for me. They explained how I would know if I needed my guitar restrung and how my fingers would feel after I started playing. They’re restringing the guitar for me for a lot less than I was expecting. I loved that everyone was so knowledgeable and do their own playing and gigs as well. I have an acoustic guitar, but there’s an electric one that caught my eye. I’ll definitely be back!

Stopped by to have my Martin guitar repaired because these guys are listed on the Martin website as an authorized repair shop. I was informed they won’t do any repair work on my Martin because it’s a hassle to deal with Martin. They did ask if I bought the guitar from them, not sure what difference that makes, it’s warranty work. Was interested in looking at another acoustic, but I will go elsewhere. Do yourself a favor and take your Martin to Charley‘s guitar shop. They took it right in for the warranty repair. No hassle at all. Not bashing tone shop. It just looks like they didn’t wanna go the extra mile for a potential customer. That’s OK,

My go-to shop now. Knowledgeable people working there, competitive prices, friendly, helpful, good mix of quality gear and brands. I bought two guitars there so far and they set them up before I left. Good place. Chad is the guy I see when he is there but everyone there seems to know their stuff. They’re not a bunch of kids like GC. They are experienced people.

Super shout out to Tone Shop Guitars and Edward Carson! He Plek'ed my 25 year old Hamer bass that has MANY miles on it (plus decades of sweat, drink spills, and general abuse) and was not in good shape at all. NOW it is! WOW, what a difference. Tone Shop is the best guitar shop this side of the Mississippi! Not a big chain, but big sounds and selection. The staff isn't a bunch of teens who will sell you anything for the sake of commission (no hate, they've gotta make money, too), but the fine folks at Tone Shop take time to get to know you, your preferences, your style and sound goals as well as price range. There's something for everyone on any budget, and you'll find a lot of unexpected gems here. We've been coming since they've opened and it's just taken off so beautifully. They've expanded the shop and the selection, it's easy to find something to take home here. Ask for Chad, he'll do you right!

I have no experience with electric guitar playing but I always dream owning one and start playing songs from artists that I love. I went to Tone Shop in Addison before Christmas and really don't know what I am expecting, to be honest. Austin welcomed us with smile and at ease. He might have noticed my nervousness and started a conversation with me about music genre I listen to and artists I love. Then he naturally brought the topic to guitars selection and introduced Chad to us. Chad was very welcoming and patient and started explained specific guitars that might suit my need. He plugged in an amp and started educating me basic knowledge about electric guitar and amp using. He handed the guitar to me and told me to try different ones since no one is actually the same. Over 3 hours I was indulging in trying and listening to the sound (even though I don't know much about playing), without noticing anything else and worrying about being judged by anyone in the store. Not at all. I fall in love with a Fender Strat (Olympic White) Professional II and made the decision to get my first ever electric guitar. I am so glad and the 3.5-hour experience was just amazing and pleasant. I didn't even feel time passed that fast. I would be more than happier to go back again and again in the future and recommend Tone Shop to anyone at any level. Thanks Austin and Chad!

This was my first time visiting Tone Shop and I was thoroughly impressed with their selection and great customer service. Head and shoulders above any big chain guitar store I've been to in the area. Well worth the hour drive from Fort Worth!
