The basilica is not very big but it was overflowing because we arrived in the middle of the evening mass, so we joined it.
Then we went through a side door in the left nave (the one with the Gospel) that was open to the “Kaplica Cudownego Obrazu Czarnej Madonny Matki Bożej Częstochowskiej”, which as you all know in Polish means Chapel of the Miraculous Image of the Black Madonna of Our Lady from Czestochowa. There were also many faithful on the benches and standing praying and singing psalms in Polish. We didn't know what to do because we wanted to get closer to the image, Antonio also knew that there was a walk around this chapel but we didn't agree until Montse finally saw it. We got in line to enter the ambulatory on the tour that passes just behind where the image is located, as in Santiago de Compostela when the pilgrims passed behind and hugged the Apostle.
Here there is no hug because there is no figure with a round shape but rather a painting on a Byzantine-style panel attributed to the evangelist Saint Luke, all decorated with a very shiny silver frame. Some were on their knees but took their cell phones out of their pockets to take a picture, others were standing up, and I noticed that it was forbidden to take photos with flash. So I turned off my phone's flash to shoot her, and then I did the same with my Nikon, especially since it doesn't have a flash and is geared up for low-light scenes.
The details of the face of the Black Madonna were not well appreciated because there was a reasonable distance that allowed us to get closer, and indeed, the face is so dark that I did not see it well with my eyes. I hope the photos turn out better. On the turn back the other way I also used my photographic arts to get some good pictures, or so I hope.
We went back to the basilica to see it again but empty after mass. We appreciated its baroque beauty, we went up some stairs that we don't know where they were going because we looked at the clock and realized that we had to leave as soon as possible to be at the bus stop at the agreed time.

El templo es de estilo barroco destacando la decoración en blanco de los nervios de los arcos de la nave central como si de una funda se tratara para dejar el resto en dorados relucientes. La basílica no es muy grande pero estaba a rebosar porque llegamos en plena misa vespertina, así que nos unimos a ella.
Luego pasamos por una puerta lateral en la nave izquierda (la del Evangelio) que estaba abierta hacia la “Kaplica Cudownego Obrazu Czarnej Madonny Matki Bożej Częstochowskiej”, que como todos ya sabéis polaco significa Capilla de la Imagen Milagrosa de la Virgen Negra de Nuestra Señora de Częstochowa. También había muchos fieles en los bancos y de pie orando y entonando salmos en polaco. No sabíamos qué hacer porque queríamos acercarnos a la imagen, además Antonio sabía que había un paseo alrededor de esta capilla pero no accedimos hasta que Montse por fin lo vio. Nos pusimos a la cola para adentrarnos en el deambulatorio en la gira que pasa justo por detrás de donde está situada la imagen, como en Santiago de Compostela cuando los peregrinos pasamos por detrás y nos abrazamos al Apóstol.
Aquí no hay abrazo porque no hay figura de bulto redondo sino un cuadro sobre tabla en estilo bizantino atribuido al evangelista San Lucas, todo ello decorado con un marco de plata muy brillante. Algunos iban de rodillas pero sacaban su móvil del bolsillo para tomar una foto, otros íbamos de pie, y advertí que estaba prohibido sacar fotos con flash. Así que desconecté el flash de mi teléfono para retratarla, y luego con mi Nikon hice lo mismo, sobre todo porque no tiene flash y está preparada para escenas de poca luz.
No se apreciaban bien los detalles del rostro de la Virgen Negra porque había una distancia prudencial a la que permitían acercarnos, y efectivamente, el rostro es tan oscuro que no lo vi bien con mis ojos. Espero que en las fotos salga mejor. En el giro de vuelta por el otro lado también utilicé mis artes fotográficas para obtener unas buenas imágenes, o eso espero.
Volvimos a la basílica para verla otra vez pero vacía después de la misa. Apreciamos su belleza barroca, subimos por unas escaleras que no sabemos a dónde iban porque miramos el reloj y nos dimos cuenta de que había que salir pitando cuanto antes para estar en la parada del autobús a la hora convenida.
