I joined the Alternative tour and we went through the Moscow district, market and then back to central Riga. Unfortunately we couldn't go into the market because of COVID restrictions and it will take a very long time to get everyone scanned as there was already a long queue. Our tour guide was interesting and was really detailed with his information about the history of Riga and Latvia. I really enjoyed it. This is over 2 hours of walking so make sure to wear comfortable shoes and with good grip because of snow.

I started today the „Old Riga“ tour booked weeks ago and happened to nicely transition into the „Alternative Riga tour“. Telling enough…
Ewa - thank you so very much for sharing your city and country with such a passion and giving a glimpse into the true Latvian soul. Sorry to miss this years pagan highlights on midsummer and next years mega choir. All your little „fun facts“ were well received. Truly enjoyed myself with your vibrant way of walking the city. And now looking out for the ring of Namejs. Thank you!

Me and my boyfriend were lucky to have Old Riga tour with Harry and Alternative Riga tour with Edwards the next day. We had absolute blast and couldn't wait to go on and get to know city a bit better after the first tour. It was very informative, but they also had amazing ability talking about stuff in easy and entertaining way. Jokes are everything!
I loved the fact that Harry was telling us some of the things through the prism of his own experience and life stories. It was very valuable and touching. Thank you very much!

Ah the brilliant guide - his at times somber and at times fun stories about the old town. Informative and a great way to get to know the old town. His little nuggets about his favourite places were delightful. A perfect way to get a lay of the land. This is for the free old city walking tour.
Now the free alternative tour - ah the fun young Latvian lady “liga” if I remember the name correctly- was a delight and full of personal anecdotes and facts. Constantly pestered with questions about the young perspective she handled it with panache and professionalism. She went out of her way to make personal connections with almost everyone in the group. It was great to see the not so fancy “touristy” parts of Riga with her.

Amazing tour! Both us and our teenagers really enjoyed it. It was informative and fun! Lots of history of Riga and Latvia presented by very knowledgeable and friendly guides. We explored places that we would have probably not seen on our own, as well as the main landmarks.
Highly recommend!

One of the very best guided tours I’ve ever participated in. Despite the cold temperatures I was thoroughly engaged throughout the 1 hour 45 minute tour of Riga’s old city. Great blend of history, linguistics, culture, mythology, geography and plenty of humor. Definitely recommend this tour!

Had an absolute blast with Artur on the Alternative City Tour! His knowledge on his city, combined with a fun and uplifting mood he provided throughout the tour was the absolute highlight of the tour! Being able to talk about a dark side of history while maintaining an engaging vibe is a gift! All of these happening at sub-zero temperatures - yeah, definitely worth it!

Fantastic tour full of historical and more contemporary stories, great recommendations and a brilliant, genuine tour guide. Our guide James made sure to show us both well known “touristy” sites but also some of his lesser known favourites. I would highly recommend the old town tour to anyone visiting Riga!
