Amazing architecture. The history and design of this building is well described inside the library. It is absolutely amazing. When you go there in the evening it will be really quit and you can have a breathtaking view over the city at night. I highly recommend to go there by night!

It's a place where you want to come back more and more. I spent in this place almost 2 days walking in rooms, reading books and playing different games (including the one that we created). It has some kind of unforgettable atmosphere that I have never experienced in the libraries before.
Also the library has a perfect location and amazing view of Riga.
I will definitely come back to Latvia and for sure I'm going to visit this place again.

Never seen a library this big in my life; the architecture, the floor layouts, the study rooms, the first floor exhibition, the scenic overlook on the top floor... all accessible for free! Great place to visit with family or significant other once in Riga! :)

Impressive library building on the left bank of Daugava river. The visitor card is free, but they also have guided tours. The main hall is 6 stories high, but you can go up to the 11th and 12th floor to enjoy the panorama of the city. Somehow it's nearly visited, so it's a calm and pleasant place.

This place is awesome! The visitor passed are a great idea and my friends and I had so much fun exploring! For American visitors, I'd recommend the JFK Center, it was really interesting!

Gotta love a country where one of their first major building projects of their modern times was a public library, very inspiring. Easy walk across the bridge from old town. Beautiful modern architecture based on a local folk tale (Golden Horse). Free entry, beautiful interior, free bag storage if you actually want to go into book areas. Nice free toilets. Multiple great free exhibits with English translations, in particular a wonderful section on old manuscripts and the value of books. No free WiFi but can't get it all :) Definitely worth a 1-hour stop if you love books.

Modern building, more than just a national library, as it hosts art and other exhibitions and events. A hub of culture in the banks of Daugava of Riga.

Loved it! Coolest library I've ever been in, highly recommend visiting. Observation levels on the top two floors were a very cool view of the city and waterway.
