Grand Hotel Kempinski Riga

Hotel might look like 5 star and i would give it 5 stars, but it’s just not on the level.

Before you check in, make sure to take all your shower toiletries with you, or you will have to go for showers to spa or buy them from reception. So be prepared for discomfort regarding shower and bathtub in your rooms. In our room there was only one tiny bottle of shower gel, shampoo and air conditioner, soap bar which is not possible to wash of even after 5 minutes of rinsing under water. So basically you have to take this tiny uncomfortable bottles to shower, then take them out to sink or bathtub. There’s also no hand cream/lotion in the room, if it’s not presidential suit! Never had such experience before, even in 3 star hotels.

When i asked for some normal toiletries dispensers and hand lotion, i got offer to buy them from hotel reception or spa, lol. Because they provide them only to presidential suits. Seriously, 5 star hotel can’t provide normal, comfortable shower toiletries and hand lotion to use, it’s quite disrespectful to guests.

Also water is weird in the room, as it doesn’t wash off any soap and shower gel. It’s like dead water with no minerals. Had to go to spa every time i wanted to shower or wash my face.

Breakfast was good though and most of the staff was nice.

5 stars hotels are 5 stars for a reason.

Was here for the Sunday brunch. The food was presented nicely and the staff were very attentive. The favourite was the salmon sashimi. Great Cava served all afternoon. From 12.30 pm to 04.00 pm. Price was 60€ for one adult.
Pianist entertained occasionally.

After a terrible experince at the Locale restaurant, this was exactly what I needed. Came in for the Afternoon tea and got treated like a queen. Even as a solo guest, I was given a large table by the fireplace (usually when travelling alone I am always given a small table tucked away somewhere) and the staff was really attentative. The food and tea itself was delicious! Can really recommend!

Kind stuff, beautiful location, awesome dinner at Stage 22 Restaurant and breakfast at Amber Restaurant. Everything was absolutely amazing

One of the best hotels i have been. The rooms are amazing. They provide cleaning 2 times a day. The pool and the spa in general are very nice and rich. The staff is also kind.

Stay in this hotel, if you would like to know what it means to have a royal treatment. Excellent service from start to finish. Keep up the excellent work :)

Room service was amazing and they have a really nice food selection in their room service menu. The spa has different saunas and a nice pool that has heated water so it's not super cold.

I am not happy about my experience! The people there were really rude. When I got there, there were crumbs on the floor! The sheets were dirty, the bathroom smelt so bad, I started feeling nauseous. Definitely not visiting this place again.
