Ibis Riga Centre

I checked in at the IBIS hotel just before midnight 31 July 2022. I was allocated room 404. When I arrived at my room I realised that both the bedroom and bathroom were overlooked by a building site. The bedroom had curtains but the bathroom windows were only partially covered with opaque plastic. Because I was so tired from travelling and it was late I did not request a room change. I made sure I used the bathroom early before the builders were at work but after breakfast I needed to use the toilet. I had to do so in full view of workmen. This is not the experience anyone hotel guest should have to experience. I am disappointed that this is what guests in room 404 are expected to experience. On my departure I reported this to the front desk staff. I trust this has been corrected. If not then I hope the room is deemed out of order. I have stayed at this hotel many times and have always found the service excellent and the staff friendly and helpful.
I would be grateful for some feedback on this problem.

Location is good - close to rail, intercity bus and airport bus, walking distance to most attractions. Room was good size, good quality of sleep. There is no fridge or safe in your room. Front desk all good and friendly. Bar is still closed and that space out of use does not liven up the atmosphere of the lobby at all. Room cleaning varied - on day two we got water bottles and one towel, on day three - one towel, no tea coffee or water bottles. Shower cabinet door was dislocated to create a leak depending on how lucky you were with closing it, told about that but that was not fixed during our three night stay. Not sure if that is the effect of covid, or is it just going that way with this property. Not the most promising start for back to normality...

Great location next to Riga Old Town and the train station. Rooms were small but cozy. I wish the rooms had a fridge thought. My biggest complaint is that the sound proofing was terrible! I was unlucky and had very loud neighbors and I could hear them talking well into the night. I couldn't sleep properly because of that. All in all, this is a decent hotel and it's quite cheap. If you choose to stay here, bring ear plugs!

Great location, staff were very informative and knew the area. Room was spacious and clean. It is an old building, noise does travel, but all things considered, would happily recommend to anyone staying in Riga. Paldies!

I was happy to stay at the hotel as it has a good location and a reasonable price. The hotel has friendly and professional staff who are responsive to all my requests. The room has everything you need for a business trip. The comfortable bed and bath were the best experience of this hotel.

My second time staying here. Very good hotel. Excelent value for money. Location is very central. Rooms are clean and have all the necessary amenities. Would definitely recommend!

Great for a short stay in Riga, at a stone's throw from the central railway station. Staff was friendly and helpful, but unfortunately, there was no luggage room available. Staff agreed to keep our luggage in the reception area, which was much appreciated.

Rooms (at least on upper floors) are completely missing noise insulation. You will definitely hear someone talking in the next room or walking in the hallway. Furthermore, the floor is made/covered of wood and the noise and vibrations made by someone walking are propagated in the room as well. Except that, the hotel is in a very good location, near the train station, shopping center and the city center. Price is good as well as the overall state of the building. Breakfast is good enough. Staff speak english. I don't think I will come back here.
