My husband and I tried the Bear Street Tavern while visiting Banff and we had it for take out. First off the server we dealt with was very nice. The drinks we ordered were amazing, we wish we could get these in Ottawa. The pizza was good as well as the garlic fingers.

This tavern was featured on You Gotta Eat Here. The hostess was friendly and offered to seat us quickly. She asked if we could leave our baby stroller outside, but my newborn grandson was sleeping in it so she accommodated us. We did state that if they couldn’t accommodate us we easily could find someplace else to eat and we were okay going somewhere else (it happens and it is not a big deal). We were seated and our server came to our table right away. He was new so he did not know how some of the menu items tasted, but other servers chimed in and provided us with some suggestions. The spinach dip was ooey gooey goodness!! The pizzas were delicious and I loved the Mac and cheese!! The margaritas weren’t the greatest. The three star rating would have been higher if the manager didn’t make it obvious that she disapproved of us having a stroller, yet she was accommodating for another family and their stroller. And what was with the towel wrapped around the pipe?

Our server Jessie was awesome. She brought a bowl of water and dog blanket for my little TOTO. The courtyard patio was perfect for cold weather. This is a great pet friendly restaurant in Banff. Highly recommended !! Oh, pizza was delicious too. Don’t forget to put chili oil and honey on your crust. 10/10 here!

Staff were very nice. Setting was comfortable. Cutlery and table were very clean. Had the spin dip and Hawaiian pizza. Definitrly try the hot oil and honey! The chips were super salty but the dip was excellent and the pizza was quite good as well.

Hands down the BEST gluten free pizza I've ever had. Highly recommend. Also, not only is the patio dog friendly, but they also have a dog menu! Fantastic staff, great atmosphere, I would definitely go out of my way to go back there next time I'm in Banff.

Was visiting the town with friends and a dog and was encouraged to try this place - was not disappointed! The courtyard in the back is all dog friendly - they bring out a fresh water bowl and refill on request. Plenty of umbrellas and shade - it started to rain and hail and we didn’t get wet or hit by hail at all . The pizza was perfect in crust and the flavours with the home-made honey and hot oil were spectacular. Good portions for the price you pay (for Banff standards). We had the Viva La Pizza, the Godfather, and the Hawaiian - all were excellent. A full drink menu with plenty of local craft beers. Will definitely be visiting this place again!

Pretty fantastic food overall based on what we ordered for the most part. The pizza there is honestly so good because they make their dough a certain way, so I loved the texture and the thickness of it. Probably one of the best pizza’s I’ve had in my life, but again, I’ve never been to Italy. So my bar is not too high.
The lamb rib sauce was also absolutely delicious and the texture of the lamb meat was not bad as well.
However, I do not recommend the lettuce wrap. The steak meat on our wraps were cold and the texture was off as well.
The beers from the tasting order was not bad, wouldn’t hurt to try it if you like beer.
Overall a great experience because we were lucky enough to get a good seat during a weekend even when it was pretty packed.

Our first meal in Banff didn’t disappoint! We started off with a spinach dip appetizer and the dip was perfect. We also ordered 4 pizzas for the 5 of us which was plenty and enjoyed most of them. I’m a big fan of olives and really liked the wheeler hut. The godfather was also a solid pie especially with the pesto. The big bird also had some pesto but the big chunks of chicken were a bit dry
