Toowong Cemetery

the cemetery was massive - so large I don't think it was possible to walk the entire thing and see everything. I spent the whole day there, took close to a hundred photos and still don't think I fully gauged the scope of the place. Several of the tombs and stone are in disrepair but the place is quite peaceful and a very enjoyable walk.

Visited friends in Brisbane back in 2010. I'm from from Oklahoma and love cemeteries, especially old ones with so much history. One of my 'bucket list' items was to visit a foreign cemetery, so my friends brought me here. Like the rest of Australia, I fell in love with it.

I agree with many posts, many graves weren't that well maintained, but even those were interesting. It doesn't matter which side of the Big Pond we're on, all of our lives have an expiration date on them. You all are lucky to have such a wonderful and serene place such as this and I hope to make it back one day.

Dilapidated but undeniably historic Brisbane cemetery. A quiet place to walk or jog.

Beautiful and peaceful. Full of history. Australia folklore has it that Jack the Ripper is also buried here. I adore the place.108 acres. Great place for walking or running. Really cool to photograph. Awesome wildlife. Check it out 👌

I can see why people are dieing to come here. Easy to find as it's the dead centre of Toowong. Great history of people who built Brisbane. The GHOST YOURS ARE A MUST. Well worth a visit and great to stroll around. There seams to be 4 lads that walk around caring a coffin on and off and I think they are just having a little fun. If your lucky you might find a geocache.

This place is nuts, it's so big and so much to see. I tried walking it but definitely think driving through is better and if you go on a weekday you can park up on the side of the roads in spots to explore, the only downfall is the ladies who run the office. They're about as lively as the people buried there. Don't expect any help from them at all. They won't even acknowledge you.

The residents are really nice! They love their herbal tea.

Great place to walk around and explore. You really do need a whole day here. There are toilets. You can park inside the cemetery. Take a water bottle and a hat.
