Bronwyn Sutton came highly recommended to us by another Speech Pathologist, whom was part of the Developmental Assessment Team that diagnosed our, non-verbal, 3.5 year old son with Autistic Spectrum Disorder. We wanted someone to work with our little boy who was highly experienced, very knowledgeable and specialised in working with ASD children, in particular. Bronwyn did not disappoint, she is all that and more! Bronwyn is punctual, organised and courteous and provides therapy in a very respectful and caring way. And she absolutely astounds us with her knowledge! I would have to say that one of the best things about Bronwyn’s approach is that she also coaches you, the parents, on how to incorporate speech therapy in your everyday interaction with your child. With Bronwyn’s guidance, our now almost 6 year old boy is not only speaking, but speaking in sentences! I couldn’t be happier with his progress, and often wonder where he would be without the input of a great Speech Pathologist such as Bronwyn. She definitely got the results for our little boy that we were hoping for.

Having had experience with other Speech Pathologists both personally and professionally I can say that Bronwyn has a unique and innovative approach to Speech Pathology that I have never seen before. Bronwyn has had the courage to step outside the traditional centre based approach to speech pathology and develop a trail blazing, evidence based approach to speech therapy delivered in the child's own home and tailored specifically to each child’s needs, resources and family circumstances. We originally sought Bronwyn out as a speech therapist because every single professional we met on our journey through my son's Autism diagnosis mentioned her by name and gave glowing recommendations. Bronwyn's home based approach to speech pathology was a life saver for my son who was having great difficulty with traditional centre based speech therapy. Bronwyn has many years of experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and her experience allows her to integrate goals with other therapists (OT, Psychology etc.) making programs easier for busy parents to implement.
Bronwyn has always been ethical in her advice to us and will not hesitate to speak up if she feels certain things are not needed or can be managed in a more cost effective way. This has been a life saver for us as Autism is often a very expensive journey for families. Bronwyn is also very mindful of children’s rights and dignity and will not hesitate to advocate for them.
Bronwyn came into our lives at a time when I was managing two young babies, a pre-schooler and a toddler with a recent ASD diagnosis. She came into our home and our family and showed me how to implement my son’s speech therapy program in amongst washing clothes, cooking dinner and changing nappies. She showed me how to turn a once wasted 45 min drive to school pick up into 45 mins of real life speech practise for my son. She has helped us take our son from an almost non verbal two year old to a four year old who talks non stop. We cannot thank her enough.

After years of schools telling me to take my son to various hearing and eye tests because of his distant attitude to school and life, a friend suggested I go and see a paediatrician. The doctor diagnosed him with mild-autism at the age of 5. At a time when you feel overwhelmed, scared, lost and worried about the future of your child - we went to see Bronwyn, an experienced speech pathologist, who became our guiding light. Reassuring my husband and I that he would be okay and equipping us with thorough assessments of our son, giving us the opportunity to guide him in school and life. Bronwyn gave us tips and hints of how to empower him with everyday life, enabling us to cope as parents of an Autistic child. Going out of her way to do school visits, and using her network of medical professionals, Bronwyns unbelievable instincts are what make her fantastic. She became more than a speech pathologist, she became the light at the end of a very dark tunnel, our guide throughout this journey. She always follows through. Bronwyn goes above and beyond her call of duty, constantly helping along the way. Without her my son may not be graduating grade 12 this year, being the independent, confident, respectful and happy young man.

When first confronted with our 21 month year old sons Autism Spectrum diagnosis, one of the first health care professionals we were highly recommended to see was Bronwyn Sutton. I will never forget the first day she arrived at our home for our first appointment; we were in utter shock and pain, grieving and completely unaware of how we were going to come to terms with, let alone navigate the journey of Autism with our precious boy. Fortunately, Bronwyn brought with her that day a confident and kind presence, a no nonsense approach and clarity and understanding of all things ASD that to this day, somewhat further into our journey, no other health professional has come close to surpassing. She managed to help us through guidance, intervention and support, turn a very bleak looking path into a one that is to this day much brighter and hopeful.

Bronwyn is professional, immensely informative, a fantastic practitioner and a wealth of knowledge and support regarding all things ASD and Speech Pathology. She is also a humble yet fierce advocate for not only my son but all kids with an ASD and for continued education and understanding regarding Autism Spectrum Disorders.

My son was out of the age range of clientele Bronwyn and her team work with but she gave me a good 45 minutes of her time suggesting other therapists and explaining exactly what type of experience I should look for in a therapist in order to get the best results for my son.
