This was a very unprofessional, and indecent organization. Please assist your staff with some respect! 0/10 no doubt.

They were very helpful. Found out I was in the wrong place, they deal with more immediate threats to safety but they still sat down with me and then pointed me in the right direction for what I needed.

These people are very supportive and helpful. My children and I wouldn't have got through without them.

If you're a family experiencing hurdles then berry St may be able to help. Start with Orange door first

I was referred to Berry Street through Orange Door as a victim of domestic and family violence - not once did I receive any form of service from Berry Street, who also closed me off without notification or by going through the appropriate formal channels.

When this was raised with the alleged team leader (who I will not name), they continued speaking over me and stating that I was talking over them (pot, kettle, etc).

As someone who’s worked in the social work sector for 11 years now I’ve got to be honest with the fact that being told I’m not allowed to speak about my experiences as a victim by the team leader is downright appalling. The team leader made a statement to the effect that ‘it doesn’t matter what’s happened in the past’, well actually it very much does. Your organisation is being funded to provide support to victim/survivors and it is not doing that, in which I’ve heard from several other people as well. The fact that your ‘workers’ are unable to work outside of their judgemental lens within these roles is very sad. This alone shows that degrees don’t equate to people being able to appropriately fulfil a role.

The most awkward thing about this whole scenario is that Berry Street was one of the first places I commenced my career in the sector on.

Very sad to see how backwards it has gone.
