White Grass

White Grass is delightful! The staff was friendly and helpful. Two friends and I wanted to try cross-country skiing and needed equipment rentals and access to their trails. They were enthusiastic and provided lots of suggestions for novices like us who were trying it out for the first time. The Snow Farming technique they use instead of making fake snow keeps energy use and therefore their costs low, so we had fun all day on the trails without spending nearly the same as we have on downhill skiing lift passes. When we returned the next day, multiple people remembered us and welcomed us back. The lodge had delicious food and hot cocoa for reasonable prices too. We didn't partake, but they were advertising free or inexpensive snowshoeing and kids activities on Sundays. Fantastic fun for the whole family!

I loved it, great trails, awesome atmosphere, super friendly ownership! My brother and I skied to the summit of bald knob for the su set, amazing views, and moonshine cached along the trails to boot! Cant wait to come back!

Incredibly friendly and helpful staff plus delicious food in the Cafe make this place a no miss, even for those not into skiing. They host yoga and nature walks as well!

We have come to Davis, WV and Canaan is not open so we came to White Grass. What a gem! We had some real fun learning how to Cross Country ski. Chip was so nice and wants to come canoeing with us in the Okefenokee. Thanks for your hospitality to us Southern Folks.

Wonderful place to snowshoe and do cross country skiing! The rental shop and cafe are really friendly...and quaint, rustic and super charming. We'll be back!

I learned to snowshoe and cross country ski! The atmosphere here is very hospitable and the lodge smells great. The people who work here are knowledgable and kind. The people who do this sport are easy to get to know. I could leave my boots out without feeling they might be stolen.

I can't give enough stars for the amount of love I have for whitegrass. This place changed my life for the better. Such a cool vibe. Good people + good food and drink. No better place to be.
