The good people of this community have taken it upon themselves to preserve and provide a record of the roots of Nancy Hanks, mother of Abraham Lincoln. The history of this area is rich and offers insights to the people that built our Nation.

Nancy Hanks Memorial. The mother of President Abraham Lincoln lived in this house for two years. Lived there to be close to Patterson Creek. She then moved to Kentucky where Abraham Lincoln was born.

The gate was closed and locked. Couldn't get within a quarter mile of the cabin. No sign saying when it will be open again.
