Lived here for just a year, we have indoor cats so rarely need a Vet. We got a dog this past Thurs from the Humane Society in Martinsburg. Adult Pocket Beagle weighs only 13 lbs had been spayed 3 days prior. She needed booster shots in 2 weeks, there was a Vet next door so my wife made an appointment. Thurs afternoon-evening the dog seemed fine, in some pain, but ate, drank, and went outside to do her stuff.
Fri morn, the next day she was lethargic hadn't had water since yesterday. We were concerned about an infection and it's almost the weekend. Wife called the vet we had the appointment with, explained the situation they told us to be there at 2. We were early, they got us in at 1:30. We were VERY surprised and thrilled. Dr was surprised they hadn't given us any pain meds and antibiotics when we got her. He said all the problems (I didn't go on with here) were due to her pain. Gave her a pain shot and gave us pain meds and antibiotics sent us on our way. Before we got home she was a new dog, pain free and HAPPY.
They got us in same day no in office waiting. It's not they weren't busy, parking lot was full. Dr Reich was gentle, thorough, not at all rushed, came across very caring. We were outta there in about 35 mins and they squeezed us in. I haven't heard of anyone getting same day appointment around here especially new patient. We live in the Woods, this vet is over 30 min away and we passed a bunch but WELL WORTH the drive and we're sticking with Dr Reich.

All of the Staff here are spectacular, you may not like a specific Doctor or Tech, but who cares, its about your pet. These people are all about the patient.
Heck If they would treat me Id prefer to come here than my own family doctor.

THANKS FOR EVERYTHING PEOPLE.

Know your pets vaccination record as they will try to sell you vaccinations and or boosters your pets already had even though they have records themselves. Happened with the vets assistant last visit telling me my pet needed vaccinations she'd already had and with the vet telling me to make appointment for 3rd set of boosters she had just given pet. After double checking from each, they recanted

Called for an appointment for a cat with possible dental abcess. Was told appts were now out in the middle of November, nothing sooner AND a $50 nonrefundable fee was required.
How is this an EMERGENCY vet if you are unable to get an appointment for weeks?

And they advertise themselves as an emergency vet?!?!

Sorry, emergencies can't be scheduled.

This is the pet hospital connected to the humane society, I've been here a few times and I honestly feel sorry for the animals. I'm sure they're all well taken care of and healthy, but the atmosphere in the entire place is unhealthy. Whether youre trying to adopt a fur baby or you have a medical issue that you need taken care for your pet, it seems as if you are a burden on the employees. I avoid this place now for this reason and who knows how many animals have missed out on a new home simply because theyre greeting people with a nose in the air and an undeserved demeaning tone coming from their mouth. You are in a field where compassion and understanding is a necessity but you treat it like you're customer service ar mcdonalds and I'm complaining that my double cheeseburger only had one slice of cheese on it.
Get over yourselves and focus on the things that truly matter

They are very responsive and ready to see a pet on an emergency basis. The vet is sympathetic and very good with our dog. We are very impressed with their whole service and approach to pet care.
