I left there last night. I spent a few days there getting eaten up because of their BED BUG infestation that I was NOT told about prior to OR upon arrival. it's been going on a long time is what I was told by other residents. I called WSAZ news about it so let's see what happens next!!!

The person that manages it is very good. The house is always clean. One of the few shelters that is well kept.

I know that this says it's a homeless shelter, but I think that a better word for the place is transitional housing. When you are accepted into the shelter, you get assistance with finding a house, getting medical help, among other things. You don't have to apply for a bed every night, and as long as you follow the simple rules you can stay there for 90 days.

It's important to note that this isn't a place for people that cannot become self sufficient. It's not a psych ward, and it isn't drug rehab.

I am sorry that all you negative people thought that it was going to be the Hilton when you went to the shelter. It's not but I will say I have been in shelters all around wv and IL by far this one is the most cleanest and the staff there treats you like family. Sure there are rules but there are rules everywhere and if you can't follow these rules then you should go home to mommy and daddy because your not going to make it on your own. The director is awesome he will bend over backwards and go out of his way to make sure you are ok if you have a problem. The staff there are the best they are the reason I'm still sober today and I'm out on my own. If I needed to talk they were there no matter what time or what they had going on but they always lent an ear to listen and advice to help. These people are by far the reason I am who I am today so God bless them. I would recommend this place to anyone. Last but not least you will always have food in your belly and it is considered your home too. When you go to this shelter your no longer homeless but instead your at home. Thank you mchs for everything I will forever be in your debt.
