Thrift City - Margate

This is a nice quiet thrift shop. They have a nice selection of glassware. I like coming to this location because it's quiet and never really too busy. The staff is high nice. There's a decent collection of clothing. It's really hit or miss with me at this place but I love buying glassware because its still one of the thrift shops that haven't hacked up the price on glassware.

Update: Ever since about five months ago this location has employees that just open and close the store when they choose. I came here at 6:30pm and even though closing hours are @7pm the place wasn’t open for business.

As soon as I walked in I heard we close in 5 minutes. That is how the rude manager greets customers. She was nasty last time I went in but my daughter wanted to go. I tried again and the same nasty attitude from the manager. I left right back out the door. Funny thing is when I got in the car it was 5:48 so I really had 12 minutes. If the lady doesn’t want to work at the thrift store then she should just quit instead of spreading her misery.

The manager was being rude. You were not there. Even my child who is 10 agreed. You need to train her on how to deal with customers. She is always rude given the other reviews on here.

Stopped in today because I was in the area. They should NOT call it a thrift shop when you pay the same to more than retail. My son wanted an old beat up car…. When I turned it over it said 8.99….. I can get him a brand new FP at target for that. I ask someone where the bathroom was… she rudely point quickly and didn’t utter a word… I had to search for the bathroom on my own. I won’t return.

This place is a dump, they’ve raised their prices a lot to where you can go to a retail store in some cases to find the same item new for less. The manager is less helpful then the cashier that had to call manager for help.

Love this place! Super well organized priced fairly and 50% color of the week I always save a lot

Some items are of high quality and good price. Staff is excellent - hardworking and welcoming.

Location and music are just fantastic.

Thrift City is one of the best store to shop.

This location has great items , my mother introduced me to here. She is a long time customer but her recent experience with a new cashier tainted that initial experience. It was a horrible customer experience. I will no longer support this location or refer people to here. The cashier displayed the most unprofessional way to handle her customers, yelling and cursing on the floor at my older mother making threats. This all erupted because while she was ACTIVELY scanning the merchandise my mother was about to purchase she stops midway and takes the customer (who just got behind her and has 2 items) next without completing my mothers purchase without any form of acknowledgment or anything. When my mother mentions to her she doesn’t understand why she stopped midway through the transaction, the cashier began to go off yelling at an older woman, then switched in her native language (not knowing my mother understands) and makes threats to her English and in her native language. You don’t pick and choose who you decide to service when in retail, it’s first come first serve whoever is in line. I’m so disappointed at how this cashier handled it and then the manager on duty instead of taking control of her employee she does absolutely nothing. Is this how they treat older women? I’m so astonished. My mother could not even drive back home this is how badly she was afraid and shocked. She didn’t know how to respond or handle the way she was being verbally attacked. I will never support any business that disregards their customers when clearly they should retrain the front line on how to run the front effectively. She literally canned 20 items and stopped because she felt like it. This is unacceptable treating your long time customers with so much disrespect cursing and walking off onto the floor cursing loudly and being aggressive. I will find another establishment that will cater to their customers way better.

What a delightful store!! My daughter had a great thrifting experience with the “large” selection of stuffed animals. She found two of her favorites (pandas and pusheen cat). The store is well organized and staff is friendly.
