Del Prado Elementary

The only man in the drop off lane this morning,who I later learned was the coach, was very rude to me. I have to wonder if this is how he speaks to the students. He is not a very good role model for children.

DONT JOIN THE PLAY!!! THEY YELLED AT THIS GIRL FOR SKIPPING 1 DAY WHEN SHE HAD TO ATTEND A FUNERAL FOR HER FAMILY MEMBER. NICE GOING MS.MONTGOMERY. SO HAPPY IM OUT OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. GOTTA BLAST!!

I attended for two years and loved it the only bad part was the food but the fifth grade play was great to participate in.

Del Prado Elementary is the best school in Palm Beach County. It is an A rated school, Red Ribbon school, Blue Ribbon school, 5-star school and most importantly, gets FIRST PLACE in every county Challenge. If you don't believe me, I been at Del Prado since I was in Kindergaten and i'm in 3rd Grade. Also, my teacher [Mrs. Simonsen] was awarded Rotary Teacher of The Year. 2014,2015,2016

While many of you think that Del Prado is an A rated school, it is actually overrated and they have a carefree attitude about your child's education. The school in itself focuses on fundraising and killing trees. When your child does struggle they send a counselor to your home and make you feel like your child is stupid and make you the most horrible mother. They give children istation help which is a computerized software. I do not feel this is a proper approach to a struggling child. The car line is a hazard with cars piled up in one lane from 10 block away causing cars to drive on sidewalks (but of course they do not see that). God forbid it rains which many of you know in Florida it RAINS!!!! The line is up to 45 minutes and then they wonder why you are late.

I went to school here from the second year on, 1990-1994 from 2nd through 5th grade. I had Mrs. Rupp, Mrs. Amerson, Mrs. Bolzic, and Mr. Dack, the last of which is still my favorite to teacher I've ever had. He would teach us about the world between the math, reading, and writing. I wonder if that's even allowed nowadays. It was awesome then. I didn't know what to compare it to, and took everything for granted of course. I was a patrol, did the morning announcements, was in the after school program playing all the football and soccer I could ever want all day almost every day, did Odyssey of the Mind 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade winning regionals and going to state twice, and even took violin lessons there after school when a violin teacher offered lessons after school to the students and some of us started the violin right there in Del Prado Elementary. Believe it or not as far as I can remember almost all my classmates each year were intellectually stimulating and well behaved.

Great school. Good community. Tons of parent involvement. Maybe a little too much sometimes (helicopter parents).

Terrible interaction with a group of their students today, while at Epcot. Yelling, screaming, attempting to cut lines, pushing, bumping, etc. The chaperone was not interested in maintaining appropriate behavior. If they are going to wear clothing adorned with the school name they should understand they serve as ambassadors.
